A RIGHT LOAD OF OLD SWADDLING AT THE COUNCIL

A Christmas approaches what do the following have in common,
St. Fergus's Nursery - Morton Nursery - The Apex Sports Centre - Elderly Residents of sheltered complexes and all Council Employees ?

ANSWER - they have all been badly let down by the SNP/Lib. Dem. Renfrewshire Council, they are closing the two nurseries, likewise the sports centre, the Elderly are having their Wardens cut and having costs imposed, their night Wardens will also be removed. Pensioners turned up in their numbers with placards etc. only to be treated with contempt by the SNP/Lib. Dems. who voted down a Labour motion to have the matter discussed, so much for free speech and democracy under the SNP.

The Council employees who have had a 27 yr. long guarantee of no compulsory redundancies under Labour had that guarantee removed by the SNP/Lib.Dems.
This was the fourth time that Council leader Derek Mackay SNP has been asked to honour Labour's pledge and shamefully, he has failed every time to do so, employees be warned !
A lovely Christmas greeting to all these people from the Council.

The day ended on a nice note despite the SNP/Lib. Dem. scrooges as we were treated to a carol concert by the pupils from Kersland School.
These youngsters are less fortunate than most of us and in their own way they show a great example of courage and determination, they are quite simply a great credit to their families, their teachers and their school.
I think that all those present felt as I did that my problems don't amount to a hill of beans, best wishes to all of them.

Welcome to the real world. Why should they have any such guarantee?

Aw Terry you forgot to mention that you and your Labour cronies VOTED in the policy regarding wardens and left the council with possible legal action due to some people paying and others not. Under your policy they would have been paying £42 a week instead of the £10 a week under the Glib/Gnat regime

Dissapointed that the peoples party can only rumage up 8 protesters, and thats after telling them a pack of lies.

Merry Xmas

what was that, Terry? Labour shut nurseries when they were in power? and Schools and community centres and libraries etc etc, but that was good closures. Not like the nasty ones the evil empire is doing.

Like you said, you agreed with the closure of the Stanely Centre but not the Apex. Why? whats the difference.

(Comed) 20/12/07 - This SNP lot are the most officer dominated administration in history, there is not one of them capable of standing up to officials either by intellect or courage, that’s why we are seeing this volume of cuts.

Labour in power put the libraries there, built the Apex and all these schools that the SNP opposed and are now lining up to be photographed beside. What will they sell next to Mr. Trump ?

(Zippy) 20/12/07 ‘Facts are chiels that winna ding; as the old Ayrshire plagiarist used to say and the fact is that Labour despite being asked several times did not cut the Warden Service and did not impose charges. Unlike the wimps who now run the council (SNP/Lib.Dem.cabal) we were prepared to stand up for the people who need these services.

Not only did Labour not rummage up anybody or lie to anybody but you have a serious numeracy problem.

(Falco) 20/12/07 - I don’t see why not, it certainly seems very civilised to know that you have a safe job, it removes the fear of unemployment and boosts morale.

You need an administration with bottle to do it though and that aint the SNP/Lib. Dems. Is it ?

Terry,

Let's see.

Why would labour vote in a policy and not then implement it.

If you didn't want the policy then why didn't labour vote it out with their majority?

The answer is of course that the election was looming and to implement the policy would have caused extreme bad publicity just when you didn't need it.

So what was the plan?

Vote the policy in but wait until after the election before implementation and that way you can't lose.

If you don't get in, then the new administration are forced to implement it and take the flack.

If you do get in then you implement it straight away so that it is generally forgotten about by the time the next election comes.

Please answer the above question i.e. if Labour didn't want this policy, why did they vote it in?

Is it true that Labour laid on transport to the meeting for the protestors

Labour policy to charge for wardens service- brought in Feb 2006 - your daughter voted for it! Some tenants in such complexes are already paying the charges - Labour only delayed the charges to the rest. Also while this is happening every other council tenant is subsidising this service.

Show the proof of your policy - it isn't in the council's standing orders/ policies - just another new labour lie!

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 22/12/07 - The awkward fact for you is that Labour never implemented this and didn’t intend to, the SNP did because they are spineless.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

anon - 'transport' ? absolutely, it was Rolls Royces.

(Maxum) 22/12/07 - “The answer is of course that the election was looming” an election was looming in 16 months - wow ! a clever analysis eh.

I think it was the butler who done it with the wrench, in the drawing room. Because you’re paranoid maxum doesn’t mean they are not out to get you.

We accepted the policy as part of a COSLA decision and of course what you can’t handle is that we didn’t and wouldn’t have implemented it.

The SNP showed their lack of courage and principle and let the elderly down, they are shameful and spineless.

Maxum said...

Another lie Terry!

You did implement the policy for some and not for others.

This is why it came to light recently.

When you next open your mouth Terry, try to let some truth escape among the gust of lies an propaganda that are usually exhaled.

Maxum said...

You haven't answered the question Terry!

If you didn't agree with the policy, why did you vote for it or accept it?

Surely you should have opposed it when you felt so strongly against it or is it the case that you have no principles?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Maxum) 26/12/07 - We as part of cosla accepted this, now read that carefully and stop accusing me of denying that we accepted this.

The difference is of course the thing you are hiding from. We never implemented it and the SNP cowards did just that at their first opportunity.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

maxum - I think you doth protest too much - a clear sign that you have lost.

Maxum said...

You are not reading my post Terry!

Do you deny that labour implemented this policy for some and not for others?

A straight forward yes or no would suffice.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Maxum) 26/12/07 - Is it the case that Labour did not implement these cuts and the SNP did ?

A yes or no would suffice.
