SADDAM'S TRIAL - "AN ASSAULT ON TRUTH AND JUSTICE"

So, who is being quoted above? some Sunni cleric? Mr Galloway MP? Fidel? well, no, it was actually Ramsay Clark, who he? I hear you ask. He's the ex Attorney General of the USA, the last shreds of Western decency were stripped away by this kangaroo court and the subsequent indecent spectacle of his execution. The Vietnam coward Bush described it grotesquely as a "step toward democracy" Come on now, don't be so modest George, it was your blessed saviour the Lord Jesus Christ who delivered him up for you George to smite him, amen. The anti capital punishment countries shamefully hid and did not protest, sordid behaviour or what? how long will it be before we can use 'pay to view' to watch executions? how long before we can pay to be there live? how long before we can pay to pull the lever?, there is an opportunity here for some enterprising capitalist, hell, there's a niche market here boys, what the heck are you entrepreneurs waiting for? Saddam's regime was evil but we in the West are no better after what happened over the last week or so, I feel ashamed of what went on and the blatant dishonesty surrounding the whole ghastly spectacle, I sincerely hope that the cause of abolishing the death penalty is given a boost by these squalid events. As Gandhi once said when asked what he thought about Western civilisation " I think it would be a good idea "

And of course, the leader of your esteemed party played no part in this charade?

Like it or not, this war is the issue that defines your government and your party - by remaining a member you support the action. All of the action.

Max, I think that if Iraq was not what you consider to be the defining issue for the Labour Govt. you would quickly find another which according to you would make it impossible to remain in the party, such is the simple world you appear to live in. The Labour Party to it's credit has been in constant turmoil since the invasion of Iraq, judging by your past comments I wouldn't expect you to understand that or indeed the internal party conflict over Trident and many other issues - you Max,might not have the stomach for the fight and would walk away with your tail between your legs but there are a great many of us who will continue to stand and fight, that's why we are in the Labour Party.

Terry,

Your comments are typical of the myopia we have come to expect for appologist of Saddam. He exchanged a couple of words with the observers and suddenly John Simpson says it was reminiscent of "the dark days". It is not.

I have just finished watching 4 WMV files that consisted of some raw footage taken from the secret police buildings in 2003 after the liberation. This is footage that all the MSM have but have chosen not to show. Prisoners beaten and thrown from roofs, limbs amputated by machete in public, hands severed and sent to Saddam as a prize.

He was a brutal man who deserved to die a thousand times for the death and misery he visited on Arabs in his own country.

I did however enjoy your decent into weirdness surrounding capitalism and executions. Lets face it both Capitalism and execution have been around for a while, if pay-er-view was to be introduced it would have been by now.

And again we see a curious reference to Bush and Christianity. Is Jesus not also your lord? I mean, your declaration of interests lists your membership of the local Catholic Church.

The only reason you're in the Labour party is to enrich and empower yourself. If you had any principles as a "socialist" you'd have left years ago.

"Not got the stomach for the fight"... you have no idea how wrong you are. Of course, I don't have documentation to prove it, unlike yourself...

Max, yet another stunning political analysis you should be on the TV, do Frost & Dimbleby know about you ? your comments have caused me to look at where I am and, no I'm sorry but after nearly 40 yrs. in the Labour Party I can't find any personal riches and precious little power, maybe you could enlighten me. So I'm wrong about your commitment to whatever it is you believe in. Well Max be my guest I'd love to know a) who you are b) what your politics are and c) why you deem it necessary to hide, talks cheap isn't it.

R.F.S. I'm happy to let people read these comments and decide for themselves what kind of person you are.

Terry, I'm coming close to conceding a point to you... while I think that my "politics" are pretty clear to anyone who reads my blog, I will accept that it's perhaps about time to dedicate a post to clearly setting out what my basic principles are - when I get around to writing that, I'll be sure to alert you.

Now, coming to your other two points. I am "Max", I could be called "Gertrude" - my views would still be the same. As they say, 'a rose is still a rose...'. I do not hide, I post using a Blogger profile that links directly to my personal blog.

I suspect that what you really want is some kind of organisational context to place me in - who I work for or such like. I choose not to provide this for two reasons.

Firstly - I want people to answer my questions and my views, not the public position of any organisation that I may, or may not, consider myself to be a part of.

Secondly - The organisation I currently work for has no relevance to my political views... they pay me an agreed sum to spend a defined number of hours each week applying my talents in whichever area they deem most lucrative. Why that should be of any interest to you is a mystery to me.

Max - I've read your blog I take it you are BNP - You are 'Max'could be 'Gertrude' A rose by any other name I think you meant, Your blog doesn't tell me who or what you are, just what you are against, that's hiding. The rest of your comment is either convoluted drivel or it's way over my head, I can assure you that I have no interest in what job you do or for that matter your underwhelming passtimes.

Rory Maxwell said...

If you had actually read my blog, you would know that I'm much further from being a BNP supporter than yourself.

Where do I mention anything other than support for freedom of movement across borders and the rights of people to work where and when they want?

And for the clarification of doubt - the rest of the comment is not drivel, it's simply written in English; so yes, probably way over your head.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Max I would really appreciate it if you would tell me what you stand for without making me read all of your blog, please have mercy I can't face going through any more of that.
From "Max & Gertrude" down really, give me a break, what are you on about ?

Well Terry, for someone who proclaims to be so right-on with regards equality, you're not very bright at picking up gay literature references are you?
