WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY QUESTIONS?

SPEAKING ON THE TORY/LIBDEM GOVERNMENT BUDGET, SNP COUNCIL LEADER DEREK MACKAY SAID "THE CUTS ARE ABOUT RIGHT" (PART 7)

Yesterday at the Community and Family Care board I once again stated that he (Mackay) had said in public at a full council meeting that "the Tory/Libdem Government budget cuts were about right" he once again decided not to comment on my statement.

A few months back the Labour Group on Renfrewshire Council put forward a motion condemning the proposed cuts in the Tory / Libdem budget. The motion fell because the combined votes of the SNP, Tories and Libdems voted it down, they refused to condemn the Westminster Tory budget cuts. Those cuts are now biting and I will highlight some of them on a regular basis.

The SNP and Libdem candidates for Holyrood in our council Mackay SNP, McCartin Libdem, Adam SNP and presumably the other SNP candidate Doig who is not a councillor refused to criticise or condemn the Cameron Clegg attacks on the poor and vulnerable, these people are now asking you the people of Renfrewshire to give them your vote.

Example 7 – Do you agree with me that people who are old, frail and disabled should be looked after by the state? SNP candidate Derek Mackay doesn't seem to think so! A recent announcement by the Tory/Libdem Government (SNP supported) after Parliament went into recess has axed funding to 13 social care projects. Vulnerable elderly people suffering from disabilities, dementia, chronic illness and mental health problems will bear the brunt of this decision which, along with the other cuts Derek Mackay the SNP Holyrood candidate has described as being "about right"

I would like Renfrewshire Council leader Mackay SNP to tell us if these are some of the cuts which he is on record as saying "are about right" perhaps he could do this before people go to the polls for Holyrood.

I think that clears that one up don't you?

you sound like a broken record Terry! You are also a Tory sympathiser, did you not vote for the tory budget at renfrewshires budget meeting!! Oh and yes and yesterdays meeting I hear you also approved the pitch increases and new concessionary rate for RLL. What will the footbal clubs say to that one?????? Perhaps you should spend more time trying to do your job as a Councillor and stop worrying about The Boay Mackay who is on his way to Holyrood, or is that what bother you. You never made it!!!!!

Mr Kelly, News from Renfrewshire Hoouse.
Rumour has it that Del Boay McKay wants or wishes to be elected First Past the Post, same as Nicola Stungun last time.

He feels that this will command more respect from the other Nats who are all pushing and shoving to sit in Salmonds cat bed, Del thinks that the unknown Labour Candidate Stuart Clarke will be a walk over, due to more favourable boundaries.

Dels feel that Mr Clark has no local connections, no local Government experience and really when all said and done has not been Leader of the 5th biggest Council in Scotland.

It would be interesting to see, If Cllr Kelly you agree with Del Boay or Mr Clarke.

Secondly Cllr Adam (Man of Straw) is better known than Labour's American Evan Williams, who is he and where has been sprung from, Cllr Adams has already spoke with Nat boss Salmon and asked for a position in the Cabinet, Cllr Adam (Man of Straw) recently let slip that it would be great if he won First Past the Post and Del Boay got beaten, although still makes it on the Nats West Scotland List, position 3, no I'm not being dirty, that’s Del's ranking.

Unfortunately Andy (everyone thinks I'm a joke Doig) has no such reservations, you could put my neighbours hamster up and he would still beat Doig hands down.

Lastly Mrs Cameron was asked about betting odds for above and she stated that she is putting 10-1 on "Bawbags" coming in 1st.

Let’s stop the fun for a second.

Labour 1st in all 3 seats, end off!

A Tory sympathiser? Did you know that the Tory budget had less cuts than the SNP/Libdem budget, are you not ashamed? Labour did not approve the pitch increases you are either a liar or an idiot or both.

I never chose to go into elected politics until I was in my late forties so I could hardly be ambitious to go to Holyrood. If Mackay was in the Labour Party he would not be a candidate he might be allowed to make the tea.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Allan on WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY... on 20/04/11

You might find his position comfortable but I don’t and I suspect many others will agree with me. His position until just lately was one of support for the Tory/Libdem cuts and he is now doing a cowardly about turn but people are not as stupid as he and you would like them to be.

Perhaps voters will remember his stance then and add that to his record of vicious cuts against the most vulnerable people in Renfrewshire as Council Leader and we will see what happens.
Still a £3 million monument to SNP vanity and more fireworks, Christmas lights, gaelic teuchters singing incomprehensible words at the Mod, and nonentity pop stars could take our minds off the cuts couldn’t it?

Ben Dover said...

So did labour object to the change in concessionary policy at the general management and finance board --NO. Did you object to the RLL business plan at the community and family care board --NO
You are a liar!! Explain otherwise????????

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The vicious cuts being made by the SNP/Libdem coalition are as a result of their budget which Labour opposed, there seems to be a gap in your understanding.

However hard you try to muddy the water it was the SNP/Libdem administration that came up with the plan, their administration proposed it and their administration included it in the budget. The story here is about the nasty choices the administration made and how those choices impact on people.

Are they prepared to take responsibility for the things they do or not? If not they should quit and stop trying to lie about their deliberate targeting of the most vulnerable sections of our communities.

“He (Mackay) feels that this will command more respect”

Whatever he (Mackay)does in the future he will always have a problem commanding respect.

“Mackay feels he (Stuart Clark) “has not been Leader of the 5th biggest Council in Scotland”

Mackay has never been a genuine leader of the council he is a puppet of the council officers who tell him when to jump and how high.

The hapless SNP pair Doig and Adam are serial losers and they show the paucity of talent in the SNP by being candidates again despite both having lost several times in the past.

If Cllr. Cameron did not exist we would have to invent her, she is convener of education you know, that is not a wind up she actually is convener of education, honestly, check and see for yourself.

Actually it is true what has been said here regarding Labour's approval of the recent pitch costs and concessionary rate changes. It is all on record no matter how you care to deny it.

Labour made no objections to the pitch increases and changes in concessionary rates.

The Football Clubs will now see the hypocrisy of Labour's Douglas Alexander trying to drum up votes by saying he is opposed to the increases while his party sat back and didn't say a murmur when the policy was put forward.

Hypocrite is rather too nice a word for the likes of Alexander and yourself who would sell their grannies for a vote.

"The proposals to cut £736,000 from the council's social care budget will affect vulnerable adults and carers across the borough. Home care charges for example are predicted to jump from the £7.55 per hour being charged now to £17.50 and hour!
New Labour regained the council in Lambeth from a Tory-Liberal coalition in May and it comes as no surprise that they have immediately introduced swinging cuts that the previous coalition did not dare. While quickly awarding their own cabinet a pay rise, the councillors then looked for local cuts."

Who is this you say Terry. It must be them nasty Tories.

Nope, it is Labour controlled Lambeth cuting services from the most vulnerable in society whilst lining their own pockets. Not a surprise from Labour.

Ron said...

BREAKING NEWS
"A Labour-run council jacked up the salary of its chief executive by 7 per cent yesterday in defiance of calls for pay cuts.
Paul Walker’s inflation-busting rise takes his pay to £168,000.
Last night, the decision was condemned by trade unions as ‘morally indefensible’ and the Tories as unjustifiable.
The increase, in Hartlepool, comes as other Labour-led councils in the North are saying Government cuts mean they have no choice but to reduce services for children, the elderly, leisure and libraries, because they have no bureaucratic waste to slash.
In Hartlepool itself, hundreds of council."

THIS HAS JUST HAPPENED!!!!

Would you defend your party on this one Terry?
I imagine that you will be too afraid to print it.

Ron said...

PAUL WALKER - LABOUR CONTROLLED HARTLEPOOL

It gets even worse.

In 2005 this guys wages were around £125000. That means that over 6 years he has had a whopping 34.4% pay rise (5.73% per year average).

Over the same period of time inflation has risen by only 14.63% total!!!

It's the Labour way of course.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Frank on WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY... at 12:26

It’s a big big leap for most people to actually blame labour for putting up pitch costs but not apparently for people like you but, will you be able to convince the electorate that it wasn’t you at all it was Labour?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Ron on WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY... at 12:51

It must be reassuring for Labour candidates and supporters to see that you want to talk about Lambeth instead of Renfrewshire.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I would not support this, I assume you support the SNP/Libdem wage award of 22% for senior officers in Renfrewshire that’s Renfrewshire where I am involved in the election, not Hartlepool where you run to because you can’t defend the SNP/Libdem coalition’ cruel and nasty cuts on the poor and needy of Renfrewshire.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I can understand easily why you prefer talking about Hartlepool rather than Renfrewshire. It’s rather obvious: I would want to divert attention away from the crass and vicious devastation piled on our most vulnerable people by the SNP/Libdem coalition as well if I were in your shoes. Have I missed something, where is Mackay hiding, is he in Hartlepool, has he ran as far away as that?

Frank said...

Can I ask you why Labour didn't object to the pitch cost rises and changes in concessionary rates.

You might have had some credibility in your objection instead of letting it all sail through and saying nothing.

Probably just Labour incompetence I suppose. After all look at the mess you left the country in last year. No wonder cuts have to be made after your wreckless borrowing and pandering to the banks.

Can't believe that Labour have given that guy a wage rise of 34.4%over 6 years. Over the last 6 years, my wages
have risen by less than 10%
He only gets £168000 now. How will he manage. My heart bleeds for him.

Marty said...

I don't get it Terry.

You (Labour)are the opposition party in Renfrewshire.

Isn't it your job to oppose things that you don't agree with.

If you don't oppose or object then you agree. It's pretty simple even for a caveman like you.

Can you explain why Labour did not oppose or object to pitch cost increases and the changes in concessionary rates.

I'm waiting!

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Frank on WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY... at 15:08

The cuts you refer to are a result of the SNP/Libdem’s brutal attack on the vulnerable caused by their budget which Labour opposed. I hope you continue to maintain that the cuts were all Labour’s fault it is right out there in the list of political own goals. It was SNP/Libdem cuts from a right wing SNP led council the cuts are yours and no one else’s.

The whole world knows that the banking crisis was an international collapse, apart from the SNP/Libdems in Renfrewshire. Mervin King Governor of the Bank of England (no friend of Labour) stated that the financial crisis was not the fault of the last Government and Paul Kruger American Nobel prize winner in economics said the British Labour Government led by Gordon Brown were by far the most resilient and innovative in staging a recovery.
What did the SNP say? Well actually they said nothing before the crash because they had no idea either what was about to happen and being wise after the event they said we should be more like Ireland, and Iceland both bankrupt and begging now. Keep it coming this is fun.

The SNP think that Scots. are good with money because of their reputation for being a nation of tight arsed misers but it just doesn’t follow.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Marty on WHY WON’T THE SNP CANDIDATE DEREK MACKAY ANSWER MY... at 15:17

Labour opposed these cuts when we opposed the SNP/Libdem savage cutting budget because we knew what was about to happen and we have been proved right.

No matter how much you try to lie your way out of it the cuts are yours, the budget which ushered them in was yours the responsibility for what is happening to vulnerable people and football playing kids is yours. You took the £2 a week off people with learning difficulties no one else, you tried to shorten primary school hours no one else, it was the SNP led council. Now you are running away from your responsibilities by trying to muddy the waters, you are a bunch of disgraceful cowards and you bring shame on Renfrewshire and Scotland.

Maybe it's because you are a non entity who sticks with a party that has coalitions with the Tories in a number of councils, steal SNP policies that 4 months ago you opposed in the council, agree papers in the council that implements increases in pitch charges and basically he has better things to do with his time than pander to your diseased ego of self importance.

that enough?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

This job with the International Monitory Fund seems like a very important position. Noteworthy people all over the world would be in thrall to such a person. Is it possible that those involved in choosing someone for such a momentous job are not aware that the SNP have declared that Gordon Brown is an incompetent fool?
You should do your duty as a citizen of the world and let them know what the SNP have found out about the inept bungling Brown, perhaps you could suggest an alternative, what about Salmond (the spiv) best to send a photo with the CV just in case they don’t know who he is. Remember to tell them about the (wee spiv’s) devotion to the financial systems of Ireland and Iceland, that will make him odds on Fav. eh? Back to Brigadoon for you I’m afraid.

"The whole world knows that the banking crisis was an international collapse" - precipitated by unregulated banks.

Scottish voters will remember the sickening sight of Fred the shred and his pension, they will remember the bankers giving themselves bonuses within months of a trillion pound bailout. But most of all they will remember the government that caused this with two phrases.

"Light touch regulation"

"We are relaxed about people getting seriously rich"

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

You and the SNP and are a joke. You are suggesting that Brown is in the running for one of the most prestigious financial jobs in the world and the rest of the world can’t see what you and the SNP can see, that Brown is an incompetent fool!

I’m reminded of the mother who went to see her sons military passing out parade with her friend and she remarked to her “look at that Jessie, everybody is oot oh step bar oor Jock” you are pathetic.

Consider your position and stop making a fool of yourself Brown is in the running for one of the most important jobs in world finance and you and the SNP say he is a useless incompetent. FFS man get a grip of yourself the SNP just has to be right and the rest of the world wrong doesn't it.

He is not of course the Labour Party he is a member of the Labour Party if you can get your head round that point.

Let me try and help you here, would it be fair for me to say that Alex (the spiv) Salmond was speaking for the SNP when he said “we Scots. did not mind Thatcher’s economic policies so much” ? The salient point here is not that you have been made to look silly by misquoting and misappropriating your sources it’s just that you are lazy inexperienced and disingenuous, you need to smarten up son.

Opposition for Dummies Seminar 1.
The administration brings forward proposals, if you don't like them you oppose them.
Seminar 2.
Then when they bring forward the details of the proposals you have another go at opposing them, if there is no dissent then they are agreed by all. Simples.

What's this? Also approved by Labour at General Management, must have a look at this.

I didn't realise that you were just as thick as this. The reality is that you are not that thick it is just that you have been exposed as inept as an opposition Councillor and you are running away from your own shortcomings.

The following is the definaition of Dissent from Wilkipedia

"Dissent is a sentiment or philosophy of non-agreement or opposition to a prevailing idea (e.g. a government's policies) or an entity (e.g. an individual or political party which supports such policies). The term's antonyms include agreement, consensus (when all or nearly all parties agree on something) and consent (when one party agrees to a proposition made by another).

You probably don't know what an Antonym is but it means "a word opposite in meaning to another."

Therefore by definition "no dissent" means agreement, consensus and consent.

It is very clear that you agreed to the policies put forward regarding new concessionary rates and pitch rises and you are trying now to wriggle your way out of it.

You have lost this one Terry.

I suggest that you scurry away into your cess pit and lick your wounds
