RENFREWSHIRE COUNCIL SNP/LIB. DEM. CABAL DISGRACE THEMSELVES AGAIN.

To Renfrewshire Council for the full council meeting; valedictory addresses were made for departing lead planning officer Crawford Russell regarded as a “lifer” with the council and a most genial and helpful officer. You knew you were on safe ground when you were taking his advice and he was scrupulously fair in his dealings with everyone; he will be very difficult to replace. The council business goes very smoothly and meetings are better behaved and much quicker now; this is because Labour is in opposition and we are far more reasonable and have better manners than the past SNP opposition who were a howling spitting mob of hooligans; it was a regular occurrence to have the police called in to quieten them down and sometimes eject some of them. The police have not been called in once since Labour became the opposition; make of that what you will; during the 8 years that I was part of the administration I reckon the SNP cost you the tax payer tens of thousands of pounds with their outrageous behaviour disrupting meetings and calling spurious emergency meetings to try to get headlines; a thoroughly obnoxious and disreputable bunch of thugs.

Today there were a couple of items which you might find interesting; on the Glasgow Airport Rail Link the SNP/Lib.Dems. voted down our motion of support for the link; the hapless Cllr. Mackay SNP leader had to sit through the humiliation of having his cowardice thrown in his face when it was pointed out to him that he was first against the link; then for it when Alex (the spiv) Salmond told him he was now for it and; he is now yes; you’ve guessed it against it again because Alex (the spiv) has changed his mind again and when the (wee spiv) changes his mind so does Derek and the rest of the SNP; not one dissenter; again. Derek made the point that although we had lost a £450M project and 1,300 jobs we had gained 2 football pitches that’s it from the council leader the ‘quid pro quo’ for the rail link and 1,300 jobs is 2 football pitches; this man is the council leader honest. Just when you thought the administration could not look any dafter in stepped Cllr. Mc Gurk of the Lib./Dems. an SNP collaborator; getting rather excited she blurted out “I don’t know how the Labour Group can support this rail link; there is no benefit to Renfrewshire from it” lets see Marie;1,300 jobs let’s say £15,000 per annum each; that’s approx. £20M a year going into the Renfrewshire economy which Cllr. McGurk thinks is “no benefit” her party in Holyrood support but; lets get real here what's in it for them if they back their party? she is also running the council; honest she is.

A motion was put forward by the Labour Group which demanded safety improvements on the Erskine Bridge following the recent suicide tragedy of the two young girls; we all thought this would not take two minutes as it will be agreed on but; guess what the SNP/ Lib. Dem. administration opposed it and changed the wording with an amendment. They made some embarrassing excuses for changing the motion which were lies; the reason they changed it was because they had not thought to mention the tragedy and they did not want the council decision to be made by a Labour motion. That is how contemptible the Renfrewshire Council SNP/Lib. Dem. administration is.

The true disgrace, Councillor, was that you, yet again, refused to wear a poppy.

You are happy to support the Palestinians, but not British servicemen and their dependents, sent to war in your name, by your Government and your party.

Hi terry you are right we are gentlemen and we will continue to be

So not wearing a poppy means you don’t support British Servicemen and their dependents? What a sad specimen you are; a fully paid up member of the Poppy police; sad, sad, sad.

Oh, Crawford, I remember him. Bet he got a good 'golden handshake' from the council. Like the rest of the 'white-collared' ones do whilst the poor old manual workers still have to shift the s**** for washers!

Is 'Poppy Police' the best you can do, councillor?

Why not simply explain why you canvass support for Palestinians on your blog, but not British service personnel?

I found Crawford Russell to be a genial and very competent officer and very helpful; I believe that redundancy packages and pensions etc. are very unfair and while praising his abilities and those of other senior officers I would not have given them a rise of 17.5% making an increase of £11,000 per annum in some cases which is more than some of our workers get for a salary. That’s what the SNP/Lib.Dems. did for our “poor old manual workers”

There are far more British people who don’t wear poppies than those who do and the majority of British people do not support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan so where does that leave you?

My dad for instance and all his brothers who served in world war 2 never ever wore a poppy or a medal or attended a remembrance service; like tens of thousands of other veterans.

I support the Palestinian cause because it is a just cause; I do not support the invasion of Iraq or the on going conflict in Afghanistan but the troops involved have my every sympathy.

Sprite said...

Good that our troops have your sympathy, Councillor, but I was talking financial support for the dependents of those servicemen and women killed or disabled.

Would you care to explain to your electorate why you value Hezbollah higher than the Black Watch?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Sprite) 10/11/09
Financial support should not depend on charity; I give support including financial to political causes which when successful will mean the end of charities.

Please explain how I value Hezbollah higher than the Black Watch.

An easy one, Kelly, best summed up by 'Charity begins at Home.'

Your Blog does not carry an appeal for the Royal British Legion, but does ask for cash for 'Medical Aid for Palestinians.'

If you believe none of that aid money is spent on weapons, I begin to understand your thinking when you say Brown is the best PM we've had, ever.

Terry, I asked if Jim Devine, MP, Lab. Livingston, was included in your - and John's - list of Labour role models, standard setters and 'gentlemen'?

Guess the question got lost in your 'Dont want to answer' file

'Charity begins at Home.'

Yes that’s a good one;

I like this one “always carry a trumpet in case you run into a parade”

“Your Blog does not carry an appeal for the Royal British Legion”

I’ve never seen one that does.

And you know that aid for Palestinians goes to buy arms; you are quite a guy right?

“Guess the question got lost in your 'Dont want to answer' file”

Not true either you failed to send it or you are a liar.

I get the impression that you are trying to say something about Jim Devine; go ahead and identify yourself when doing it and I will print it.

Terry @ 4.23

Councillor, you had better sit down for this. Not only did Devine proposition a fellow (female) MP, but, and hang on to your hat...she was a Tory.

I admire his taste in not going for a Labour harridan, but even so, in the real world, his feet wouldn't touch the ground on his way.

The abused? Tory Nadine Dorries has made a grovelling apology to Jim Devine Labour MP whom she branded a sex pest on Twitter.

Will you now do the same?

At times like this it’s well worth being anonymous right?

Anonymous said...

Funny, I didn't read Nadine Dorries latest Blog comments as an 'apology' Councillor and neither does she.

The fact is, she repeats the accusation and helpfully points out that the remarks were made after Devine had enjoyed 'a long lunch.'

Seems the Labour member for Livingston can neither hold his drink, or behave like a gentleman

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

It is printed below and people can decide for themselves; you are a very bad loser and Mr. Devine’s lawyers are pursuing the matter; I doubt if anyone can make such allegations without proof or witnesses we’ll see.

Why don’t you repeat her allegations to Mr. Devine and see if his lawyers would be interested in you too, go on I dare you.

"Jim,
We both know that what you said was said sometime ago, in jest and obviously after a very good lunch. It doesn’t make it less offensive; however, I had no intention of ever repeating what you had said to me ever, until I read what Kerry McCarthy had written about Sir Nick – someone I have known for a very long time. He may have many faults but being a predator is not one of them.

I am afraid that having commented to my colleagues, the situation may have got out of hand and I certainly never said some of the things I read in the Sunday press.

I remember at the time sharing what you had said to me with a female MP, who I think may have been, somewhat ironically, Natascha.

I am not happy that in anger, I stooped to Kerry’s level and I have learnt a lesson for the future.

I have always felt we got on well and I am sorry that my revelation to colleagues may have caused you embarrassment. I am sure it is a taste of what the next few months may hold.

Best Wishes,

Nadine"

M/s Dorries repeats that Devine made improper and offensive remarks to her, behaviour that is unacceptable in any nornal workplace and would result in dismissal, yet he is still a Labour MP - says it all really.

Look up 'Natascha,' Councillor. To help you along, Google 'Natascha * MP'

Anonymous said...

Terry,
Been following the Devine saga. Are you saying Devine never said anything improper to Dorries?

And, following up 'Anon's hint, it seems to me, that this hare was set running by two Labour lady MP,s. so just who is Jim threatening with legal action?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

A woman in the workplace makes an accusation of sexual misbehaviour against a male colleague; was there a witness? No; is there any evidence? No;
Lets sack him anyway; are you a retired SS officer?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 14/11/09

“Been following the Devine saga”

Obviously not very closely.

I will repeat part of what I said to the last anonymous. A woman makes a complaint about sexual misbehaviour; was there a witness? No. Is there any evidence to support her claim? No. Let’s sack him anyway eh?

As far as Natasha is concerned; there are 350 Labour MP’s in the commons; it would be far more note worthy if none of them disliked each other.

“Are you saying Devine never said anything improper to Dorries?”

If you are saying he did then say so in public and let Mr. Devine know who you are.

Councillor

Has Devine denied making these sexist comments and I've missed it?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 15/11/09

His lawyers are pursuing the matter on his behalf so he clearly thinks he has a case against her but you are avoiding a very important question; if a woman in the workplace accuses a man of sexual misconduct without any witnesses and without any proof do you assume him guilty? Is this where your political philosophy leads you; is that how desperate you are?

Anonymous said...

Clearly Devine has denied making the comments and I did indeed miss the denial.

Where did you see it, Councillor?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 15:34
Can you please get to the point; what is it you are trying to say? I am getting tired of you ducking and diving. Make the accusations and ID yourself or this is over.

Anonymous said...

Either Devine has denied the accusations, or he hasn't. Which is it, Councillor?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 16/11/09
This was your last chance; any further comments on this which do not include an accusation and a valid identity will not be published.

I have been more than generous to you but you are clearlt too much of a coward to take it further.

No it's not I will tell you again; if you want to accuse anyone of something I will only print it if you clearly ID yourself; that way the accused can defend himself.

What are you afraid of?

Ariel said...

Councillor, in the comment you refused to publish, I accused you of being a cowardly liar. Either one of those terms is usually enough to stoke your dander, so why not this time?

Unless, of course....no, it's not possible...I mean, you can prove your claims re Devine's legal action, can't you?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Ariel) 19/11/09
There is nothing that an anonymous writer can say which can “stoke my dander” knowing that you don’t have the bottle to say such things to my face tells me all I need to know about you.

I’m sure that Jim Devine feels the same way about your kind as I do.
