FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P.

Fidel Castro showing that he is still pretty sharp.

Commenting on the Republican Party's race to find a presidential candidate to stand against President Obama, El Commandante Castro described it as 'the greatest competition of idiocy and ignorance that has ever been'

Not at all sure Fidel is qualified to comment on either democracy,or free competition for the Top Banana's job.

His distinct lack of experience in both areas does raise the teeniest doubt about his views, wouldn't you say?

If being the most intelligent, experienced pre-eminent statesman in the world today was a reason for excluding someone’s opinion then you would have a point but, as usual you have nothing but prejudice to excuse the inexcusable. I thought I made a few points about the G.O.P. and Gingrich to stimulate comment but not with you obviously, you as usual prefer to shoot the messenger.

Kelly @ 1.29

Councillor, I do hope you wrote that comment from behind the high walls of a secure medical facility... it's Castro we're talking about here. His grasp of democratic principles could most kindly be described as tenuous and his longevity is down to American forbearance.

Please, wherever you are,get the staff to look at changing your medication.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Byeck on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 17:19

One of us might indeed be in need of medication. I am not the one who has been repeating the same thing ad nauseam for a number of years. Nor am I the one who describes 638 assassination attempts on the great man’s life as “forbearance”

A famous story in the New Yorker magazine however tells of him being given a present of a Galapagos turtle. Castro declines it after he learns that it is likely to live only 100 years. "That's the problem with pets," he says. "You get attached to them and then they die on you".

El Commandante Fidel has now survived 11 US Presidents and 638 assassination attempts and it might well be you who has lost the plot, you are referring to the towering giant of twentieth Century, show some respect. There is no disgrace in being beaten by such a colossus.

Anonymous said...

Towering giant? I've always thought you were dim, but this takes the biscuit. A man who tolerated persecution of gays by that racist charlatan Guevara, who locked away every HIV positive soldier returning from his imperialist jaunts in Africa, and who's got about as much familiarity with democracy and political pluralism as you have with quantum physics. You utter clown. He's a totalitarian pig, but American politicians don't like him, so being the imbecile that you are you think that makes him a giant. You hypocritical little weasel. You've got no genuine interest in human rights, have you? Only a sour dislike of people who you disapprove of. A blockhead like you would thrive under fascism, because you don't have the brains to EVER question anything you believe to be true. In your warped worldview, you'll no doubt see this as being pro-American: it's not. The US should have butted out of Cuban affairs in 1912, but I doubt that you've got sufficient intelligence to see that US interference doesn't give Castro carte blanche to abuse his people. Answer this-is it right for Castro to deny his people fair elections? Is it right for the Cuban state to spy on it's citizens? (or rather, subjects-citizenship implies a right to hold the state to account: a privilege that you have, but you seem to approve of it's denial to Cuban people). You epitomise sectarian political stupidity, but you're so thick that you probably believe that's something to be proud of.

PM are a dime a dozen, just like USA presidents who try to intimidate Fidel. He could take all 11 whom he has dealt with put them in his back pocket and blow them to hell.

This anonymous Bozo has Che Guevara locking up gay Cuban soldiers with H.I.V. despite Che's death in 19 65. 16 years before the discovery of H.I.V in 19 85. Is it possible do you think that this clown thinks that Che who was a medical student foresaw H.I.V so far in advance? A truly great man indeed.

Byeck said...

Councillor, read the Anon post again. To the less blinkered amongst us, he is clearly talking about the organ grinder, not Che, the monkey.
I really worry about you... but again, I would worry about anyone who thought Mad Gordon was a greater PM than Anthony Lynton Blair

Anonymous said...

You obviously did not read the post Terry.

The post did not say Guevara locked up soldiers with HIV.

It says that Castro did this.

A 2 minute bit of reaserch confirms this to be a fact.

I think that you win the Bozo of the year award again.

Anonymous said...

Learn to read, you fool. I wrote that Che put gays in concentration capmps, Fidel quarantined HIV+ Cuban soldiers. But I notice you don't have anything to say about Castro denying basic democracy to his people.

And perhaps you should learn to count-1985 minus 1965 is 20, not 16. Also-Guevara died in '67, not '65. Bozo yourself, wee man.

I made a mistake with my calculations, just like you made a mistake with the HIV and the capmps (oops) thing, it’s not that difficult to admit, depending on how confident you are. I didn’t say anything about Castro denying basic democracy to his people because he didn’t. There are lots of negative things written about Cuba, most originate from the CIA handbook for the under 12’s. 20 years of course makes your statement even wider of the mark.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Read my previous reply to the original anonymous if he/she is different from you, people can decide that for themselves.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Byeck on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. on 29/01/12

I know you worry about me but not for any other reason than your inability to win an argument with me.

The original anon. If it’s only one person? has the predictable CIA instructed view of Cuba and the Cuban heroes who like Che and the Castro brothers humiliated America and then survived and defied the world’s greatest super power, and continue to do so.

It’s a sore one to take and some people simply can’t take it. Even if America were to destroy Cuba tomorrow it’s already too late, Fidel and Cuba have already won.

Anonymous said...

Spot on, you crazy councillor. I am in fact paid by the CIA to draw attention to your stupidity.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 19:49

I thought you might be with the CIA; just a hunch about the way you talk + the anonymity of course; you can’t be too careful can you, if I found out your ID you would have to shoot me right? I know the score.

Would you be more successful at shooting me than you were at shooting Fidel or do you all start trembling at the thought of him and find yourself unable to shoot straight?

Anonymous said...

This is fascinating. Did you really mean to say that Castro didn't deny democracy to his people earlier on today? Really? Maybe you can list some Cuban oppostion parties, then?

Face it, the man's a bearded fraud. Just like that other spoiled rich kid Che. But look on the bright side: once Fidel and Raul shuffle off, the Cuban people might have a chance to choose their next leader, and, perhaps, to embrace free market capitalism.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. on 30/01/12

Perhaps you could list some capitalist opposition parties here and in America for instance. I could spend hours telling you about “free market capitalism” and pointing out it’s failures (financial crisis anyone?) but I doubt if it would get through to you.

I can only assume from what you say that there are 2 kinds of rich kids 1/ Che. Who gives up everything to fight and die for the cause he believes in and 2/ Well where can I start about your kind of “rich kids”

As I have already explained; whatever happens now with Cuba their victory is secure, “history will absolve me” (Fidel Castro)

Byeck said...

Stoutly argued, Councillor. If ever I need a hero to to defend an indefensible position, I'll send for you.

Now, onto Cuban opposition parties.
To add muscle to your very persuasive pro-Castro stance, it would be helpful if you would name some... or even one.

Sorry to nitpick, but to qualify, any such parties do have to be in Cuba, with their leaders, preferably, alive and not being re-educated in the Havana Hilton.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Byeck on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 15:13

Have we not done this before? In Cuba they have a different political system from us that does not mean that their political system is wrong, 98% voting turn outs are regular and they have a choice of candidates all of whom have different opinions and stances on various issues.

Take the USA e.g. had Hilary Clinton beaten Obama and won 2 terms as president America would have been governed for 28 years by 2 families Bush and Clinton and all of the presidents in those 28 years would have been capitalists and so would everyone associated with government and on a 50% or less turn out of voters, as they always are. You think that is a better system than Cuba’s, I don’t.

Byeck said...

Kelly @4.31

Councillor, please try to lose the habit of answering questions that haven't been asked - it confuses an old man.

To repeat the question: Can you name any Cuban politician, or party, opposed to Fidel?

Anonymous said...

In answer to your response to Byeck: they're all candidates from the same party, and a 98% turnout only happens if people are scared not to vote.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Byeck on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 19:20

Perhaps you would like to dictate my answers; meanwhile can you name a British/American politician or party opposed to capitalism?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 23:50

Well perhaps in Cuba tens of millions of people would be shot or tortured for refusing to vote, it’s possibly a wee bit silly by now,not to you of course.

Would you not agree to what is rather obvious, that is that British and American voters get to vote for capitalist candidates only?

Anonymous said...

"Would you not agree to what is rather obvious, that is that British and American voters get to vote for capitalist candidates only?"

So you are saying that all Socialaist and Labour Party candidates are capitalist?

Or is it that you are just thick?

C'mon, which is it Terry

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 13:15

Oops I never thought of that you must be pretty smart eh? We live in a capitalist society and all the people in it no matter what they want to call themselves are capitalists, can you e.g. tell me anyone that you know or have ever heard of who keeps their money in a box under the bed, because anyone who keeps money in a bank or building society is making profit without working for it, that’s capitalism.

And I guess that that includes you and of course me, in case you are still struggling; the point is that you have no more choice than a resident of Cuba has.

It was better put by that great caring saint of a man Henry Ford who said “you can have ant colour of car you want as long as its black”

Byeck said...

Councillor, if you plan on telling the Hon Member for Bolsover he's a capitalist, I'd stand well back.

Anonymous said...

Hello Terry, I'm the anon who last posted at 23:50 on Tuesday. I was going to point out that people were free at the last election to vote SSP or Respect-for example-if they wanted to back an anti-capitalist party. That was touched on by another anonymous poster: but your response was interesting. People can choose to stick their money in a box under the bed if they want to, but they don't. So I guess we all volunteer to buy into capitalism, because we all want to get some kind of return on any cash we might have. And as far as making profit without working for it is concerned (let's ignore for the time being the fact that you might have worked like a dog and made some sacrifices to accumulate the cash in the first place), sure: you're renting your money out to someone else. It's a completely straightforward, voluntary and mutually beneficial transaction. So what's the problem?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. on 02/02/12

People are also free to vote for screaming Lord Sutch or the “tinned people for cannibals party” do you genuinely believe that being allowed to vote for the SSP or Respect means that there is an alternative party to capitalism?

No wonder the rich go to their beds laughing. To answer your question there is no problem and there is no alternative to voting capitalist.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Byeck on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. on 02/02/12

Anyone who puts their money in a bank or building society or shares is a capitalist, like Dennis and me we may want to change it but we are still capitalists.

Anonymous said...

There are parties offering alternatives to capitalism: it's just that hardly anyone wants to vote for them. I'm starting to see why you appear to think of democracy as an inconvenience.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 11:20

You forgot screaming Lord Sutch. I am not responsible for your inability to understand what you are being told.

Anonymous said...

And I'm not responsible for your inability to understand that anti-capitalism is a minority interest: even you don't buy into it. Apart from your scribbling here and the noises you make with your mouth, that is. But when it comes to it, you like to make your money work for you, don't you councillor?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. on 05/02/12

Screaming Lord Sutch is the key; and there used to be a party called “the tinned people for cannibals party” You are just not up to this are you?

Anonymous said...

One of us isn't, old bean. But I doubt you've enough brainpower to realise which of us it is. Your stupidity is truly epic, councillor.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

By Anonymous on FIDEL LOOKS AT THE G.O.P. at 18:41

One of us appears to think that they have the opportunity to vote for a party which is something other than capitalist, there’s a hint for you.
