SNP "FERRETS IN A SACK"

I have recently received posts from anonymous sources which apparently come from SNP insiders who want to damage their own members or indeed praise other members.

Some of this stuff is abusive and quite personal, it confirms what we all knew that the SNP have a deep split in their ranks between those who fight for independence to the exclusion of all else and those who use independence to further their careers in politics.

Anyone familiar with Renfrewshire SNP politics will know that this is very much the case here, I have decided to keep these posts but I will only print what they write if they identify themselves properly.

I will remove the couple of posts of this kind which I have let through, on reflection I should not have printed them.

But on the strength of the previous 3 posts on your site it is quite clear that you "do" abusive and personal.

... of course all the New Labour councilors are united inmaking paisley a better place to live in, despite the hole in the public finances, caused by yourselves, and the leeky new schools, caused by yourselves, and the 32 year debt for these new schools, yep caused by yourselves...

Disputes, fights, arguments etc. are legend in the Labour Party, I wouldn’t have it any other way, the SNP would have us believe that they all agree, we know they don’t but everyone fears Alex (the spiv) too much to raise their heads.

“the hole in the public finances” What hole is that ?

“the leeky new schools, caused by yourselves”

I worked in the building trade all my life and I would have remembered working on these schools, it certainly wasn’t me I always left the job done properly.

Congrats Terry.

your now wallowing in the same cesspit your erstwhile colleague Paul Mack lolled about in with his webpage 'Not the Paisley Daily Express'

i knew you would get there eventually, same bitterness, sneering abuse of people.

In a previous post you admitted to being a waiter in Blackpool, and how long have you been a councillor? So you couldn't have been in the building trade all your life. Or have you been doing "foreigners" on the side? If so, why is this not in the local council register of interests?

Anonymous said...

Building trade Terry? I thought you were a singing waiter who went to work in a whisky plant?

What did you apprentice in (nb: This is not a trap, just trying to understand you better).

A bizarre post. Could you point out to me where my post “SNP Ferrets in a Sack” is similar to Mr. Mack’s ‘paper’

To the anon person question 10 (we assume you were aiming for "super").

The United States has several really cool Nimitz class super carriers. At no point do the British Government pay the US government to "rent" those carriers for the summer season. Should the SNP manage to gain independence for Scotland then the same would be true of the English Navy's carrier fleet. We would have to build our own so i dunno, hang onto the design documents or something.

In all seriousness the real points are two fold. One is that these ships represent a real threat to NATO, they exist because the EU needs a force projection element to its proposed intervention force and as with most things in this EU army being built it is left to the British to do the heavy lifting. Second is that these are 60,000 tonne craft. An Invincible class is crewed by 1,051. So if we say that the new ones will be crewed by 3,000 (x2 = 6,000). There are about 30,000 people in the Navy manning 82 vessels and land stations. There is not the capacity to crew these vessels nor the budget to recruit and train more people now in preperation for the expansion.

The government froze all the spending in the MoD in order to be able to afford these boats but now cannot afford to crew them. Brilliant.

dont come the innocent Terry. You know all about Mr Macks long running webpage. 'Not the Paisley express' if you dont ask your colleagues they were the victims of it. to the point that attempts were made to shut it down.

Sneering personal abuse about individuals and their private lives, well outside the politics. You put yourself out there, the people who get the highly personalised abuse (and which you post,) dont.

Same as Mack, Dont know how you sleep at night

“dont come the innocent Terry. You know all about Mr Macks long running webpage” What does this mean ? I saw a hard copy of this paper 9 years ago when I first stood for the council and have not seen or head of it since.

You don’t seem to have answered my question.

Terry, Terry, Terry, I think you have missed the boat with regards to Cllr Derek McKay, the SNP are marketing Derek, i.e. the brand, good living, church goes, non drinker, non smoker, 2.5 children! The same way David Bekam is marketed, Derek is the SNP's equivalent, this is not a smear or insult, it's common sense think about it terry! Who would you vote for a good, clean living family man, or some old piss head!

The SNP is now run and managed by suits, people who have very little interest in the "body politic", may I ask you, is this a bad thing, I could also apply this to say your own Iain McMillan, young family man, etc etc, but the question is, does the Labour Party market this youthfulness, maybe they should, as I say, look at the SNP's MEP, Allan Smith, he had only been in the party 5 minutes, he is clean cut, married, 2.5 children, speaks two-three languages. Well dressed, highly educated. Now do you see were I am coming from, this is not a smear or attack on anyone, it is today’s "body politic".

It is as simple as that, unless the Labour party wake up to this winning formula, you will be in opposition for many a year to come, the SNP is trusted, clean, reliable, women, young voters, older voters all place their trust and faith in the SNP.

I hope you and other bloggers find this interesting, I would welcome comments, I am not a member of any party but do work for a Council, hence no name, sorry about that.

Just logged on.

I think the Nats administration have threatened poor terry with the standards commission, hence why he was so accommodating on removing said items from his web site. Surely terry could say he was exercising his free speech and that of others good or bad on his web site.

Interesting I thought better of Terry, I didn't think he was that scared of the Nats in Paisley.

Terry who the hell is this GI JOE, talking about supper carrier's for, I didn't know that the coouncil or Edinburg parleiment had ordered any, sorry canny spell.

Your view of the SNP is highly subjective, the profile you describe is no different from other political groups around the country.

Cllr. Mackay may or may not rise in the SNP but I would suggest that that is down to the paucity of talent in their ranks in Holyrood and Renfrewshire.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 21/05/08

I removed the items for the reason given.

The SNP gave up reporting me to the S.C. ages ago.

Go to the front page of my web site, there is a statement there which deals with reports to the S.C. or anyone else.

People who disagree with me will continue to do this because they can’t beat me.

I wrote this to inform the SNP troll of where his logic was wrong.

And also to point out that the main problem the Navy has is not who "owns" the carriers but how they propose to man them with the resources currently available.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(ShrekBall) 10:26

How about bringing back ‘The Press Gang’ it never did you any harm did it ?

Anyway we won't need a Navy soon with 'Uncle Sam' protecting us, will we ?
