THE SNP KETTLE CALLS THE LIBDEM POT BLACK.

Alistair Carmichael Libdem MP is being hounded by nationalists for getting rumbled telling porkies about a leak to the press. Part of the reason they are after him is because "he knew this before the election and withheld it from voters" therefore they didn't cast their vote in possession of the full facts.”  Meanwhile the SNP went into the election saying they wanted Full Fiscal autonomy (it was their central demand) and now they are immediately binning that proposal. Does the Carmichael principle not apply here too? Surely they knew they were going to run a mile from this policy as soon as the election was over.

I welcome the fact they are running like Usain Bolt from this crazy idea that would leave us £8billion worse off but the point is they are just as guilty as Carmichael of misleading the public. (Neil Findlay Labour MSP.)

Make no mistake about it dear readers I hold no brief for Alistair Carmichael MP. He is after all a Libdem which makes him in my experience akin to the Tories who were described so eloquently and famously by Nye Bevan as lower than vermin. They have shown themselves over the years to be the political whores of British politics, prepared to do deals with whoever pays them enough. They provide a political home for the mediocre and spineless who know that they would sink without trace in a bigger political pond, one example of this is the ex Libdem MP, the unctuous, squalid Simon Hughes who won his seat by beating Labour Candidate Peter Tatchell for the Bermondsey seat 1983 he lost the seat at the last election after 33 years. What makes his victory and lengthy parliamentary career so notable is that that Bermondsey election was and is still referred to today as one of the dirtiest most vicious electoral contests in British political history. Tatchell was openly gay and was subjected to the most atrocious abuse observers had ever seen, his opponents, prominent among whom was Simon Hughes persecuted him because of his sexuality and Hughes won. What no one except Hughes and a close number of equally squalid friends knew was that Hughes was also gay. 23 years after his election he was forced to admit this and issue an apology to Mr. Tatchell. This is the Liberal Democrat Party. And this is the SNP.

The 'black hole' as you describe it exists regardless of whether we are in the Union or not......Its just a matter of who is picking up the debt to pay for it.

Another smokescreen.

WHy don't you launch a legal challenge then Terry?

What are you afraid of Mr. Wood. When the snp stated before the election that they wanted Full Fiscal Autonomy were they telling lies?. It's a simple enough question, is there any difference in what the snp are accusing Mr. Carmichael of and what they did by lying to the electorate?.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Absolutely correct, it has to be paid for and the UK can do that without causing a financial catastrophe, an independent Scotland can not.

why cant an independent Scotland borrow to support a deficit as the uk and the rest of the countries in the world do?
It seems very strange that Scotland with all of it's resources can't borrow? Are you sure?

Ms Nicola Sturgeon said in an interview in the united states that Scotland as a sovereign nation would be perfectly capable of shouldering the burden of a deficit.

Now what part of that is backing away from full fiscal responsibility? This year long lead in to the Holyrood elections is rather pathetic. Not because labour are trying it they need to try something but why go with the same nonsense as before the general election.
SNP = BAD failed abysmally before the ge why do you think it will work in 2016?

find some policies, any policies but hopefully socially democratic policies. The latest poll of 60% to vote SNP in 2016 should be scaring you it clearly isn't you are still going with the same SNP BAD rubbish and praying it will work. it won't

The snp manifesto was 90% or so copied from the Labour manifesto. The flagship policy was FFA and they immediately put it on the back burner, that's because it was a lie.I understand your anger you have been made a fool of by your own leaders. By the time the Holyrood elections come around the 56 snp MP's will have been at Westminster for over a year and they will have done nothing, no wonder you are angry and worried.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

All governments borrow and the snp could do the same, it's a silly question but what does it have to do with the snp betrayal over Full Fiscal Autonomy?.

Angus Mac Rury said...

Except the SNP have introduced FFA to the bill today, and like yourself, David cameron is opposed. Probably like yourself, he will say that we can only control our own fiscal levers if we accept a thing called relative 'debt' something your uk has in abundance as we all know.

Why can't you ever seem to get anything right, surely being wrong about everything must get tedious even for you?

SNP to insert FFA amendment into Scotland bill next week. Care to comment ? Your pathetic following of the Tory line has made a fool of you again. How many times will the labour party get fooled by the tories.

More puerile labour spin down the toilet. The SNP had the pursuit of FFA in their manifesto it is now to feature in a Scotland bill amendment next week.
The SNP will pursue their manifesto commitments at their pace, failing to do so at the pace demanded by unionists is not a betrayal.
Voting labour and getting Tory lite for 13 years was a betrayal, one that the labour party are now paying for.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Your leaders made fools of you over FFA and now they have been forced to do what they said they would and idiots like you believe this was their intention all the time, you are a flock of sheep.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The snp membership must be the dumbest ever seen in any political party. They lied to you about FFA and they were taking such a hammering because of it that their bottle crashed and they have done a U turn and their fanatical brain dead sheep are buying that as well.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

They don’t come any more gullible than you do they? FFA abandoned, cue bombardment of criticism. FFA back on track again. The snp bringing Thatcher to power? That is the greatest betrayal of all. The next 5 years is going to be a never ending saga of amateur dramatics and hilarity from the snp and the occasional blunder of huge proportions which we will watch from behind the couch. This is just the start, the tartan circus complete with teuchter comedians is in town and it’s free to watch.

FFA amendment by Tory rebel was voted for by SNP...so not abandoned

In bed with the tories again eh. According sturgeon she reckons FFA should be in place by around 2020, rather takes the shine off their blustering doesn't it?.
