HOW MUCH AM I BID FOR SCOTLAND'S DIGNITY ?

SNP MSP Keith Brown, remember the name you will hear it again. This is the man who done the dirty on Wendy Alexander, the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish people and, inadvertently his own wretched party the SNP.

He chaired the standards committee in her case and, when he should have ruled that no further action should be taken because there was a tie he used his casting vote to suspend her. By doing this he turned an independent parliamentary committee into a partisan witch hunt, people are still trying to find out if this has ever happened before, he seems to have done the impossible, he has lowered the reputation of the SNP a truly Herculean feat.

Everyone is talking about the seeming anomaly between two conflicting pieces of legal advice given to parliament, he didn't even see fit to mention that momentous fact in his summing up, do you think he missed it ?
With a tied vote and this legal wrangle in front of him he should have gone no further but, he saw his chance to ingratiate himself with his party and, without the benefit of any legal training or experience he chose the one which ruled against her.

This deceit was not all, he delayed using his casting vote to make sure parliament would not have time to deal with it, thus prolonging the thing over another couple of months, causing her resignation, it's him who should be suspended, the SNP should deal with him but they wont.
In a cack handed display reeking of collusion, all three SNP big hitters Salmond (the spiv) Sturgeon and Swinney declared today it was nothing to do with them, twist in the wind Keith Brown, denied by the people he was trying to crawl to, It's been going on for nearly a year and these 3 amigos knew nothing about this, you decide.
I wonder if he might think in future that people are talking about him in the canteen queue ?

The parliament has been shamed by the SNP and the world sees a crude dishonest Govt. prepared to stoop so low that neither the name of Scotland or Holyrood is enough to make them do the decent thing.
As for Keith Brown ? in most political parties he would be finished, in the SNP he will thrive, his name might even become famous like Boycott or Quisling, I reckon his pieces of silver will be a promotion next term.

Kelly, you're playing with the big boys and can't hack it.

Alexander solicited dodgy donations, took dodgy donations and then lied about them.

When you have a leader as dim as that, it's pretty damn stupid to scream foul when she gets caught.

I know, Terry, it's terrible. Imagine, someone voting to punish someone who's broken the rules! It's a disgrace! This man should be taken out and shot immediately!

Parliament was shamed by a Leader who broke the rules brought in by her own party, not by the guy who passed sentence.

And I bet Alex didn't want the Wee One to go any more than Cameron wants Brown to go - they both get slotted at Question Time and any replacement might prove more of a challenge. Unless of course Jackie B gets the job.

two labour msps votes against anything that may upset wee Wendy and the nats and the liberal democrats vote for sanction. Whos playing party politics?

Anyway, the real truth of the corruption will unfold as this is all a smokescreen. "Keep your eye on Paisley"

I am curious, councillor. Ms Alexander wrote a thank you note to the donor, addressed to him in Jersey. I understand she also received a memo listing donations with annotations questioning the legality of the donation in question. Even if ignorance of the law were an excuse, how could she claim to be ignorant?

Don't get me wrong. I think these rules are stupid. People should be able to give their money to whomever they choose. The only rule about political donations should be that they are published. But they are rules invented by Labour to try to block the funding of other parties. Surely you must see the humour in the situation?

Look at this from the point of view of ordinary citizens. Labour has created one new offence per day on average during its time in office. How can **anyone** hope to keep up with all the things they are now forbidden to do? But how can you then expect anyone to have sympathy with Ms Alexander; caught in a trap of her own party's making?

Sorry Mr Kelly but your faux outrage just does not wash.

If Wendy and the rest of the Scottish Labour Party (and it's workers) cannot be trusted to manage a few hundred quid in donations, why should the electorate trust them to manage £30bn effectively?

Ms Alexander was caught out flouting the rules and has paid the price not only for breaking the rules but also trying to backtrack and weasel here way out of it later. There was no witchhunt, Ms Alexander brought this on herself.

Your cackhanded attempt to paint her as the victim does both you and your party a great disservice.

Is this the 3rd./4th. Time you have failed to address the issue ?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Donald Findlay) 30/06/08
Like other SNP contributors you are running away from the issue.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 30/06/08
So Keith Brown defied Alex (the spiv) you are avoiding the issue and not very cleverly.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Tom Paine) 01/07/08

None of this addresses the issue I wrote about, is it ignorance or cowardice ?

You are just the latest in a list of crawlers who refuses to address the issue.

It was Keith Brown who voted for sanctions with his casting vote, that's what this is all about and you have just run away from it.

"You are just the latest in a list of crawlers who refuses to address the issue."

Pot, kettle, black.

As on the previous thread you refuse to answer questions I put to you, so you also refuse to acknowledge that Ms Alexander has been hoisted by her own petard.

Not long to go now councillor. Better start looking for a few building jobs on the side.

So you still haven’t found the answers to your spurious questions then and still not answered the one which nailed you. Not doing very well Bob.

Terry,
Is it true that Son-of-Sarwar is pencilled in for his Daddy's seat?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 01/07/08

Absolutely, and I’m pencilled in for the house of Lords “Lord Ferguslie Park”

Is there something different about Mr. Sarwar that particularly annoys you lot ?

Anonymous said...

'Is there something about Sarwar that annoys you lot.'

Nope, other than his inability to speak the same language as the rest of us, as evidenced at PMQ's today, and his desire to start a dynasty.

You, Lord of Ferguslie Park? Would this be in the Alexander resignation honours?

“other than his inability to speak the same language as the rest of us”

I do hope you are not including me in this ‘us’ statement.

A failure of nerve here, you almost got there but, like most of your kind you are a coward.

Anonymous said...

Terry
I was not including you in the 'us' in my post regarding Mr Sarwars command of the language - in that regard, you both have so much in common.

About any dynastic ambitions of yours, I really haven't a clue and you've also lost me with your 'failure of nerve' comment.

Please explain.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Anonymous) 02/07/08

“failure of nerve” ? I don’t think I’ve lost you at all but for the sake of clarity you are a knuckle dragging racist moron. You just can’t quite find the nerve to say what you really mean.

I'm a 'Knuckle dragging racist moron' and you, Bonny Lad, are a ranting idiot for supporting a Glasgow MP who cannot speak a coherent sentence in the language of the people he is employed to represent.

By the by, I'm a great admirer of the MP for Dewsbury, who happens to be the same faith and race as Mr Sarwar.

I'm unsure where this admiration leaves me in the bigotry stakes, please advise.

“I'm unsure where this admiration leaves me in the bigotry stakes” it leaves you as I described you creep.

Anonymous said...

Given Sarwar's loose grasp of the English language - something you haven't denied - does he really understand the policies he votes on?

Or doesn't it matter so long as he follows the Labour Whip.

And before you play your racist card again, I'd raise the same point if you were in Parliament.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Anon - July 23 5.28 pm. There’s no need to play the racist card when dealing with you, you can’t help yourself.
