MAH FELLOW MURKNS

Good old Dubbya of the Bush crime family seems intent on leaving a legacy which decent Americans will find unworthy of their great country.

He has just vetoed a bill which would have made it unlawful to use torture, we sometimes overlook things because they are coming thick and fast at us but this, this bears repeating, the President of America the leader of the FREE, yes FREE world, a guy who claims to be guided by god is now officially on record as admitting that America uses torture and will continue to use torture.

Hell folks it's the Murkn way, kill fer peace, zap those Turrsts, zap em fer Jeeeesus yeehah ! Murkah is the land of the brave yesuh and we kin kill anyone who disagrees yow.
Anyhow what's wrong with waterboardin ? all them waves n sunshine n purty galls some folks are never happy.

Interesting, want to try it again but with a Gujarati accent? Or how about a German one?

Or is anti Americanism an acceptable form of bigotry today?

I’m not anti American, anti many things that America does yes, anti Bush definitely but so are many Americans.

You would have been happier back when the popular phrase was ‘Un American’ wouldn’t you.

I see, so if I were to criticise the current Pakistani regime and do it with an Urdu lilt then that's acceptable too?

Being a party member isn't easy but surely you will join those of us who condemn Gordon Brown's appeasement of Tibetan nationalism.

Nationalism would be fine if it were just prancing about in folk costumes but we all know it leads slowly and inexorably to the gas chambers.

What the Tibetans have started is genocide. Nothing less. True they haven't achieved their aims now but it is only a matter of time.

Theirs is no cause for a Labour Prime Minister to align themselves to.

Waterboarding is not torture. The only people who say it is torture is those who seek do undermine the war effort.

Waterboarding is used as a training tool for special forces and airmen to prepare them for real torture. You know, the kind where fingernails are pulled, bones broken, testicles electrocuted and the occasional rape is involved.

Also the US recently detailed exactly how many waterboarding sessions have been carried out.

2.

And that was on a recent capture 3 years ago who eventually gave up information on a planned event that would have killed hundreds.

However your decent into mocking the accent is despicable and low. You are nothing more than a modern day minstrel. I hope you re-read your post and feel shame. Any valid argument you did have was lost when you descended into low bigotry.

I think you might find that politicians of every colour and nationality have been subjected to this kind of thing since way way back, Disraeli was portrayed as a Jewish characture for instance by ‘Punch’ in the mid 18 hundreds, think spitting image, Rory Bremner Etc.

I suspect you are trying to say something here but can’t find the right angle so you tried this.

Why don’t you try again and use the truth.

What you say is interesting if for no other reason than you seem to be in a minority of one.

I have no time for nationalism it is the cause of strife and hatred all over the planet, here in Scotland we have a nationalist party which is identified by it’s hatred of the English which I consider to be very unhealthy indeed.

I don’t have enough knowledge of Tibet so I am catching up but, that guy who leads them appears to be a Buddhist monk, I’ll have to learn more.

“Waterboarding is not torture, it’s used as a training tool for special forces and airmen to prepare them for real torture”

It prepares them for getting their finger nails pulled out then ? and their bones broken ?
The USA have only used it once and, despite it ‘not being torture’ they got a confession.

Does it tickle them until they confess then or what ?

“mocking the accent is despicable and low”

Pathetic, Bush is one of the most sent up, mocked, lampooned , impersonated figures on the planet and he richly deserves the contempt and derision.

Thank you for making my point. It is not torture. It is unpleasant but it is not torture. Should they use it on the wrong person then that person has no lasting damage done. Unlike those in Saddam's care.

And yes, it also works so why would someone fighting a war prevent it from being used?

Quiet_Man is correct as well. Pakistani used to be a widely mocked accent in the comedy circut so can I use such an accent when talking about them?

“And yes, it also works so why would someone fighting a war prevent it from being used“ I thought it was only barbarians and foreigners who descended to this leve, surely you can’t be British or American ?

“so can I use such an accent when talking about ‘them’ (Pakistanis)” ‘them’ ? you are really Alf Garnett with an evil twist aren’t you.

That's a downright lie and you should be careful about saying such things.

You really are grasping at straws and straw men here.

I defined the Pakistani people with the phrase:

"Pakistani used to be a widely mocked accent"

I then used the word "them" as the historically accepted way to refer to a context previously established re Pakistanis.

The fact you think this can be used to tar me with the racism brush is pathetic. But then again this is all to avoid answering yet another question about your behavior. Would it be acceptable to use a mock Pakistani accent when such an accent was widely held up for mockery in the '60's and '70's? If so then that is OK. If not then you should be ashamed of mocking the American accent and have the decency to say so.

Also: with regards to the state you got yourself into around the military and quoting actors in movies, Alf Garnett was not only fiction but played by a devout leftist.

That sounds like a threat to free speech to me , maybe it’s the case that “you can’t handle the truth” (Col. Nathan Jessup)

The SNP used to be more open about their anti Englishness until they realised that it was crass, now it's 'London dictat' Orders from the South etc. it's the same stuff under a different guise.

You seem to be struggling with ‘mock’ and ‘mimic’ the former is an insult the latter is not. I did not mock the American accent that would be impossible, there are so many variations, I mimicked Bush and in so doing I mocked him, not America.

“Alf Garnett was not only fiction but played by a devout leftist”

And here’s me thinking he was a real character, next you’ll be telling me ‘there is no sanity clause’

No wonder you’re anonymous.

Re: Tibet

Don't get me wrong councillor, The Dalai Lama is a good man just a very misguided one on this issue. It's not him that worries me but what and who will follow if he gets his way.

Lots of good people fall for nationalism for good and decent reasons. The trouble is none of that helps you when it shows it's true face.

There seem to few people willing condemn nationalism wherever it rears it's head. Many folk think they can pick and choose, or think that there is good nationalism and bad nationalism. It's true that many nationalist movements seem decent and reasonable at the start but always end in violence. Whether organised on the scale of the Nazis or a SNP thugs attacking English people.

Already we've seen footage of attacks on ethnic Chinese in Tibet. That will only get worse in a "free" Tibet.

I’m not convinced that he is such a good man and I’m struggling to believe that this disorder is spontaneous with the games on the horizon.

I concur with your view of nationalism, and I liked your view recently that It’s OK when it’s confined to quaint costumes and sad songs but it doesn’t end there.

Are seriously suggesting that the Dalai Lama is behind the recent violence in Tibet? Either you are gullible or a liar (and possibly in the pay of the Chinese Communist Party).

Unlike your hero Mandela in South Africa, the Dalai Lama has NEVER advocated the use of violence against the Chinese Communist imperialist aggressors despite the most blatant provocation by Mao and his successors.

If you are going to condemn the Dalai Lama, you should definately denouce Mandela, the ANC, his ex-wife Winnie and "Mandela United F.C." for their use of violence.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

(Comrade Castro) 13:58

I think your outrage is false here, you talk as if I’m the only person on the planet who has his doubts about the Dalia Lama, try reading and watching the non American version.

I'm not a liar and I'm not gullible but, I do receive a retainer from The Chinese party though, that's why I can blog to you from my other home here in the Bahamas.

Terry:

Are you trying to get into the Sunday Times every week? After 'Prince Harry the Nazi' we now have 'Dalia Lama to blame for Tibet/China violence'.

Terry:

Incidentally, if Mr. Bush had said the following:

"Anyhow, when kin ah git started on that Ayeranian SOB he's just f- - - - d with the wrong Marine, he's an axis of evil n we're gonna fix his waggon furm okaydokay."

It would not have been completly inaccurate, as 'Iran' translates as 'land of the Aryans'. Happy Nowruz and Holi.

The issue is: during a war would you or would you not inflict pain on your enemy to save lives?

The Liberal Left: 100 % abstain and give themselves over to Islam.

Get real.

If I wanted into the Times I might come up with something like that but, as you well know I haven’t. Very disappointing.

Trying to dress it up in different ways is the cowards way out.

The issue is, are we any better than the enemy ? You and anyone else who advocates torture or as you so duplicitously put it “inflict pain on your enemy” are no better than the regimes around the world who use torture.

Surely you can’t be British ? American yes but not British !
