I cannot truly cannot remember the exact nature of my comment but I remember showing a bit of shock and sadness at your hostility towards me.

We are both Labour party members. From your blog I guess I'm more critical of the part than you but I would always have put us on the same side of the party whatever miner difference of opinion we might have.

I just think you were too flippant about an accusation of sexism. I'm 999% certain you were joking but the point is the effect of that joke. How many women will be deterred from the blogosphere because their concerns are a 'joke'. Its the thin end of a big wedge stretching from dismissal in conversation, to disbelief of rape allegations.

I just expected a bit better of you given the golden opportunity that question presented you to show solidarity with women.

“a bit of shock and sadness at your hostility towards me” I don’t remember showing hostility to you but if I did I apologise.

The remark was meant as an insult to a person who had insulted me with accusations of Sexism and Racism.

I wanted to insult the person, and I regret that I gave my enemies who pour over my every word the opportunity to float the idea that I was in fact sexist, nothing could be further from the truth.

I agree with your points about sexist language/jokes and the ‘thin end of the wedge’ and where it leads. I will certainly be more careful in future.
