RIGHT WING LIARS

IRAQ MANIPULATORS - I suppose I should have expected it, my article on the Iran captives has been seized on by the raging right wing fanatic ' right for Scotland ' who accuses me of doing them down because of my reference to the Monty Python sketch 'the Spanish inquisition'
I urge everyone to read it and consider what goes on in this guys head, if he feels obliged to write to me like this he is going to be a very busy boy indeed considering the deluge of criticism hitting them now, guess where from ? yup, knuckle dragging reactionaries just like ' right for Scotland' it will be interesting to see where he now goes with this.

His real problem of course is, that the Govt. has handled the situation well and no one has lost their life, that's what he and the right wing press and the retired military types are angered by.
They like nothing better than a good bloody conflict as long as they are far enough away from it. This is exemplified by poor old prince Harry who will now spend whatever time he does in Iraq worrying that one of his body guards might get hurt.

A young recruit lost his nerve and ran from a battle in a blind panic, when he collapsed exhausted and terrified he saw a big pair of shiny boots, looking up he saw an officer to whom he blurted out " I'm sorry corporal I couldn't help it I was scared " the officer said, "don't call me corporal laddie I'm a general"
"Christ" said the distraught lad, " have I run that far " ?

Good luck to the freed captives and I hope they make plenty from it, if all kinds of upper class retired military nonentities can write memoirs, why can't the poor bloody infantry ?

Inappropriate humour that is what Rfs is objecting to go along with your counterfactual history.

I don't think anyone with your record of lies, mendacity, abuse and downright insincerity can call anyone a liar.

Your not even a socialist Tery drop the pretence now!

The "poor bloody infantry" can write their memoirs - pace the Bravo 2 Zero lads and many other. Normally, regardless of class, or arm or corps of service, you are expected to be retired first.

Terry, have you seriously turned this blog site, which I assumed would be a place where you might explain the vast gulf between your views and those of the Labour party, into a tittle tattle mud slinging ground for you and RightForScotland (there's a misnomer if ever there was one!).

Raise your game for goodness sake, or prepare for wipeout in the elections.

Are you honestly expecting us to swallow that old line about the military being run by chinless wonders?

Why are the Labour party sending them into all those wars then? Is it some cunning class warfare being waged by the Labour party to wipe out all the upper class toffs by failing to train them properly at Sandhurst, failing to arm them properly and sending them off to fight illegal wars for America?

Are the Labour party really sending the sons and daughters of your constituents into a battlefield being run by the chinless, brainless wonders that you purport our armed forces to be run by?

I think I might go to Ferguslie and campaign for the "Anyone but Terry" party.

Anyone with me?

If I do, Terry do you fancy a Pint?

Anon - I respond to criticism from RFS and others, I thought that was the done thing.

I believe that our military leaders are too often incompetents, look at their backgrounds and note the similarities. If you genuinely believe that our officer class are chosen on talent and ability then it's you who has to raise your game.

The cancer at the heart of our armed forces has been going on for hundreds of years and it is a disgrace, open it up to everyone and we would see a great difference.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

SE - I thought that when you were in the armed services you did what you were told, as in "sell your story if you like"

It's great fun seeing the right wing tearing into each other for Queen and country, why don't you look at it as good capitalist initiative, making money's good isn't it ?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

zinzin - Do you really talk like this or do you use blogging to release your frustrations ?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

zinzin - you've got this wrong, go read RFS's comments again. He and you are making fools of yourselves, don't you read the papers or watch the news?

What a lot of tosh!
Do you know anyone who has been through Sandhurst selection and training? or anyone who has failed it?

If it's so easy for the priviliged, why did Edward fail the Royal Marines officer training?

It may be easy for you to play up the buffoonish military officer caricature with the Ferguslie electorate who have so far failed to see beyond your Labour rosette, to the 'couldn't be further from the modern Labour party' candidate that stands before them, but you're playing to a wider audience here.

anon - another apologist for the shortcomings of the top brass.

When people like you start to admit the truth we will make progress toward a modern professional armed forces, the top brass are a sick joke, and people pay for that dearly.

Who are these 'Top brass' Terry??

Tory Bliar has been in charge of the country for nearly ten years now, leading the nation into illegal wars more than once.

The MOD is run by the government and is moulded to goverment policy.

Are you saying that the Labour government whilst failing to create a truly modern, professional armed forces are still endangering the lifes of the children of this parish by directing them into illegal wars, led by commanders who are a sick joke?

Look Terry, I just offered to buy you a pint, political opponenet to political opponent, but you just ignored me.

That's just rude.

What are your reasons for blogging?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

zin zin - I was right about the captured sailors wasn't I ?

I used to have a web site which broke down repeatedly and I was advised to try a blog, which I did, so you could say I stumbled in to it.

I then found myself under attack from people like you and I haven't had such fun in years.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

jackart - I hope I haven't offended you.

RfS said...

Flattered as I am to have my own fan site now could you enlighten us as in what way you were "right" about the sailors and Marines?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

RFS - I hope you don't mind but I used you as typical example of a right wing knee jerk reaction to the events in Iran.

I think if you go over what was said you'll see yourself looking silly, again.

Anonymous said...

No Terry you are wrong. Internal divisions in the Iranian regime probably did more to secure their release.

I think you will find that if you read what you wrote you will find that you addressed me directly in a post. After posting two followups to a single comment I left. I think we can all see who looks silly here.

zin zin - absolute rubbish, you will cling to anything rather than admit that the Govt. got it right
