getting desperate Terry;more jolly bedfellows for you.

Better Together polled 106 Scotland-dwelling fellows of the London-based Academy of Medical Sciences. Of the 76 respondents, 73 indicated their preference as remaining in the UK. So that’s the 93% figure dealt with.

Who are the Academy of Medical Sciences? Their “about us” page states:

‘Our elected Fellows… are drawn from the fundamental biological sciences, clinical academic medicine, public and population health, health technology implementation, veterinary science, dentistry, medical and nursing care and other professions allied to medical science as well as the essential underpinning disciplines including mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, ethics, social science and the law.’

This is not an NHS-affiliated organisation and its membership is evidently drawn from such a wide range of disciplines, many of which not directly related to clinical medicine, that calling their respondents “top doctors” is arguably very misleading.

Who funds the Academy? Well, their site states they do receive funding from the Department of Health, but their donors list is essentially a directory of huge multinational drug and medical technology firms.

What are their aims? Here’s one of the sections:

‘We seek to capitalise on our independence and ability to connect stakeholders from across the life sciences sector to… [Facilitate] strong and equitable partnerships between academia, industry and the NHS… along with promoting effective engagement with regulators and policy makers…’

So, there you have it. Better Together have presented the above figure as a majority of ‘leading doctors’ planning to vote No. What we actually find, with a minimum of Google detective work, is that the ‘leading doctors’ are actually Fellows of a London-based organisation, primarily concerned with academia and not directly affiliated with the NHS, funded in part by donations by big pharma and openly stating their aims include influencing policy decisions.

Are Better Together openly lying to people on Facebook? You decide.”

"Are Better Together openly lying to people on Facebook? You decide.”

I don't see any lies, can you point them out to me?. Are you suggesting that those polled were not doctors?. Can you explain why if that's what you are saying?.

So you can't find any lies then?, and you are not prepared to say the people polled were not doctors?. That didn't go very well for you did it?. Dealing with people like you makes it almost impossible to avoid complacency.

terry check out the number of comments you get these days you have become a laughing stock.
Your position is ludicrous beyond parody.

I try and throw you a bone occassionally, something to get your teeth into but all you can do is snarl and nip out, it's become more like a cat toying with a dying mouse, it's getting a bit cruel now, so sayonara old man.
Not even I can be bothered reading your schoolboy abuse anymore.

Approximately 60,000 hits a year isn't that bad, between General elections that means approximately 350,000 getting the message, worth doing I think.

I used to get a lot more comments from snp morons but most have given up trying to get the better of and left with their tails between their legs throwing cowardly anonymous insults just as you are doing now.

5 years can pass between elections and that would be 300,000 but I would expect that to rise in election year, don't thank me I'm happy to help.

if you get 60000 hits I'll vote no, 10000 per week and on average about 4 comments lol

"I'll vote no etc." No you won't your full of it as usual. From Mon. July 14 to Sun. July 20. = 7 days. Total including 'page views' the number of hits is 2,130. or 110,760 a year but my daughter advises me that counting "page views",can be misleading, (I find it complicated) using "unique visits" and "return visits" the number is 974 or 50,648 a year. These numbers have been rising steadily for 2 reasons 1/ I have been writing more articles and 2/ the referendum. I expect this to continue to rise up to and after the referendum and 60, 000 is probably an under estimate.

Comments are considerably more than 4 a week but not as many as they used to be, that is also down to 2 reasons 1/ my tendency to not post as much as I did previously and more importantly those snp/separatist/cybernats who sent most have petered out because they were fed up getting there arses kicked and made to look stupid by my replies. Come to think of it you seem to have disappeared as well, ken?. When I saw your post I checked the betting since I know you are a self imposed expert on the bookmaking trade. Some Bookies have the NO odds at 1 to 9 on and some have the Yes odds at 5 to 1 against. That sounds familiar doesn't it?.

I've got work , so my ability to saunter into your world and see how the other half live is limited.

If you have 1000 unique visitors per week then why so few comments ?

150 different people per day and yet maybe 0.5% comment...

298697 page views are what it says at the bottom of your blog but that will be from all time. As you say its total loads not unique visitors.

How long have you been on this blog on Blogger ?

I have been doing this for 8 years I think, that’s about 30,000 a year but it’s been boosted lately by the referendum.I don't really bother that much about the stats, but people tell me they read it regularly

I thought I had explained that, the figures I gave you are accurate the comments are about 20 a week, it used to be much more, mainly hostile and much of it orchestrated. Lurid, racist, sectarian, homophobic, abusive etc. the usual stuff you get from the snp, The numbers dropped away for two reasons, I refused to print the abuse and the rest I swatted like flies and they gave up trying to get the better of me.
