RESIGN ?

What does it mean, when one party leader demands the resignation of another party leader ?

Cries of "he/she must resign because he/she is incompetent / useless / unfit to lead" etc. etc. well, perhaps they say these things because in some strange way, they want the opposition to succeed.
It's a bizarre thing to say but how else can it be explained ?

In Scotland Alex (the spiv) Salmond wants the Labour leader Wendy Alexander to go because he thinks she is a failure and Tory leader David Cameron want's P.M, Gordon Brown to resign because he thinks the same, he is unfit to govern etc. It's a well quoted sound bite but is it true ?

If I was trying to defeat an opposition political party who had a leader whom I thought to be useless and incompetent that would make him / her 'defacto' an asset to me and my party, or am I missing something.

When Salmond (the spiv) and Cameron call for Alexander and Brown to go they are saying that they want their opponents to pick a better leader which would by definition make them more successful and more likely to beat them. Something not quite right here. I'm sure some of you can see where I'm going with this.

To the Labour Party I say, stand firm Alex (the spiv) and Cameron are being disingenuous, if Brown and Alexander were as useless as they say they would be happier for them to stay.

Wendy and Gordon are by far more competent and able than their accusers in the Tory and SNP parties and the right wing media who echo the same lies.
They should carry on and stick to their policies and the tide will turn, there is a long way to go and we can and will win.
"It ain't over until the fat lady sings" think Fir Park Motherwell, Pittodrie Stadium Aberdeen and Tannadice Park Dundee and ask any Old Firm fan if that statement is true.

Councillor, to paraphrase some Scandinavian commentator when his team beat England, "Gordon Brown, Tamsin Dunwoody, Wendy Alexander, Terry Kelly, your side took a helluva beating."

And to put jam on the bread, Israeli fighter jets buzz Tony Blair's aircraft.

I wonder if they thought you were onboard Terry?

Life just cannot get sweeter than this.

No, it is the old saying "never take advice from your political enemy".

Labour cannot be seen to be taking advice from Cameron so they will either cling to Brown or he will stay on for a long period until it looks like he is going under his own initiative.

In the mean time Cameron is setting the agenda in the news with the narrative of "incompitence, 10p, fuel tax".

And all the time the Tories climb higher in the polls because Brown is deeply unp[opular and no amount of spin can hid the fact that he is personally responsible for the high fuel tax that keeps the price above a pound (and keeps food prices high due to transport costs), a minimum wage that was introduced while freezing personal allowance meaning that the poor paid a lot more in tax and such mismanagement of the economy that they can only borrow for a tax cut to the very poor and then only until next april because huge sums were wasted on the public sector in the easy days.

Keep Brown I say - and the Tories have a lock on the next parliament.

Terry
As the Great Republican said to another Parliament, 'You have sat too long for any good you have been doing........in the name of God, go.'

Having mistakenly got rid of the King, he then got shut of a damn awful Parliament. Let's hear it for Cromwell, my kind of man.

Oliver, you should be working your magic on the current Labour party.

I always thought that commentator was a Scottish Nationalist putting on an accent.

The Israeli military are quite happy to slaughter anybody.

And ‘I say’ that you clearly know very little about modern political history.

The ‘damned awful’ Parliament that he got rid of was of course a festering collection of corrupt members of the ‘ruling classes’

And his treatment of the monarchy was spot on but he treated the Irish rather harshly.

When in Ireland, Don’t mention the Lord Protector !

That just goes to show how you and the new nasty party thinks doesn't it?

Most people would think, what is good for the country and people, but no, not good old Labour and Terry Kelly, oh no, it is, what is good for our party.

Thanks for reaffirming why I think Labour are scum.

A bit over the top and obvious Duncan, nobody apart from yourself is stupid enough to buy this.

Re. Duncan's point: I buy it and so did lots of people in Nantwich.

Country first, Party second. That's called integrity Terry, something you haven't yet managed to get a handle on.

What is all that supposed to mean? OTT? Buy what? You have said that you would prefer to have someone in power who is crass, incompetent, stupid and not good for the people, country or economy because it makes your political party look good. No denial and no retort other than cryptic posts designed to avoid the premise put forward?

As I said, thanks for reaffirming my opinion of Labour as scum.

Labour party 1St. Means Country 1St.

I don’t believe you Duncan, the best thing for the country would be to get Labour re elected if this was the case.

You seem to be saying that it’s better to help the party in power rather than replace them with your own party. OTT ? Buy what ? It simply means you are lying, and have been caught out,

Once again Kelly you reaffirm my belief that Labour are scum and out for themselves, and nothing else.

You seem to be saying that it’s better to help the party in power rather than replace them with your own party.

If your own party is corrupt and murdering war mongering scumbags, then yes, and as has been pointed out, that is integrity.

OTT ? Buy what ? It simply means you are lying, and have been caught out,

Au contraire me old china, you're the one caught out, yet again, as a liar and incompetent whose only interest is in furthering his own ideological ends and the people can get stuffed.

This will make a good headline I think....

Is this your version of integrity ? Did I say the above ? You are a liar. You have abandoned your argument entirely, integrity indeed !

No answer again to an obvious and true point, so you revert back to waffle and abuse.

Sad and lacking any integrity at all.

Careful, he'll be accusing you of saying things you didn't say in order to try and distance himself from the comments and discredit you, like he tried with me.

As others have said, no integrity. Keep telling the lies and you will eventually convince some gullible person.

I pity you and your constituents.

If only you knew...

I spoke to you two or three days ago and you called me a 'comrade'

Think hard and you'll see just how stupid you are seen and in what kind of contempt you are really held. I've actually tried to help you but to no avail, you silly, silly old man.
