INFORMATION ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LABOUR's JIM SHERIDAN AND HIS SNP OPPONENT.

Labour candidate for Paisley North Jim Sheridan is an ex trade Union shop steward in the shipyards.

SNP candidate Gavin Newlands is a MANAGER with McDonalds the famous Fast food exploiters of workers.

The working class people of Paisley North must do the right thing and vote for Jim Sheridan.

The GMB Union in Scotland carried out an analysis of the occupational background of SNP candidates for the general election and the party’s MSPs and MEPs, only to find over 90 per cent came from the top three groupings — manager, director and senior official, professional and associate professional and technical.

GMB officer and blacklisted construction worker Mick Dooley asked: “Who will represent Scotland’s workers if over 90 per cent of their elected members were to be drawn from the top three occupational groups?
“Not a single person is from the shop floor. How doesIT HELPhttp://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png to replace a former shop floor worker and union representative like Jim Sheridan with a senior exec from McDonald’s?”

“This examination of candidates shows they (the SNP) overwhelmingly represent the better off.”

VOTE LABOUR.

A manager at McDonalds is a senior exec....Really.

How much is Sheridan earning now versus this "big exec" in McDonalds.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

You prefer the McDonald's manager to the shipyard shop steward. Pro capitalist and anti union, that's classic snp stuff.

You would vote for the manager of one of the capitalist world's worst companies for exploiting young vulnerable workers, rather than an ex shipyard union shop steward no surprise there then.

Vote Labour. How's that working for ya Terry?

Running Man said...

Don't know if you noticed but Labour hegemony in Scotland was in place as the shipyards closed. Not sure how effective it really was and when was Barr and Stroud a shipyard. Sheridan was a shop steward there when I worked there.

You can't tell me about working on the Clyde I served ny time in JBE's in Clydebank.

Anyway , hope you enjoyed the election. I'm assuming it was a big enough margin to rub out any doubt what the people think of your wee Labour/Tory love in last year.

As it was put last night, issue for Labour in Scotland is that they are not seen as Labour and not seen as Scottish.

Hello, Good evening, welcome to nothing much said...

So a twenty year old kid is now your local M.P., and to counteract the proposed SNP/Miliband alliance, the English lurched right, headlong toward Cameron?

Have you stopped sobbing yet councilor?

I will continue with the struggle Mr. P. we got beaten and the snp got what they wanted, a tory government

Nobody can tell you anything about anything can they?.
The election was a bad result and you got what you wanted, a tory government, it’s become an snp trend.

She is 20 going on 7 and I’m sure we will hear a lot about her. She will provide endless embarrassment for Scots. everywhere. The snp did exactly what the tories wanted them to do and you both were delighted with the result.

In the end I'll get independence , at that point I will be happy. It might happen before Labour recover

Running Man said...

What happens if Labour forms a Scottish party....where will you be then Terry ?

For British Labour...or Scottish Labour.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Running Man said...Saturday, May 09, 2015 5:19:00 p.m.

Scottish independence will turn us in to a third world country, if you are prepared to accept that or any other calamity as long as you get independence I have more respect for that despite the obvious stupidity of that position. Just don't try telling me we will be better off.

We already have Scottish Labour and we are part of The British Labour Party.

Would you like to attempt to make some sense?.

Why didn't you print my comment Terry or are you so very afraid of the truth.

Have a look at your comment and see for yourself why I didn't print it.

What is your point? There are MPs from all parties who have worked at managerial/professional level just as there are MPs from all parties (except possibly Tories) who have worked in factories etc. Your current leader in Scotland has never had a real job and in fact wasted 9 fruitless years at Uni at taxpayers expense. People vote for whoever they think is the best candidate.

Running Man said...

So if you already have Scottish Labour then you are ruling out any chance or demand for an independent Scottish Labour party.

Should one make an appearance are you saying you would not see any need to be part of it ?

It must surely be a distinct strategic option at this point ?

Anonymous said...

I can see nothing in my post that should warrant deletion. Could you be more specific as to which part of post would cause offence.

It would appear that the only thing that would cause you to do this is your fear of facing the truth about your own party and its current representation.

This is obviously something that you can't find a defence for!

I will publish my post elsewhere where it can be seen and show why you have deleted it.

Terry I heard a discussion yesterday which intrigued me, apparently Neil Findlay is trying to gather support for an independent Scottish labour party.
One of their main planks will be independence for Scotland, the SNP moved into the socialist space you abandoned, maybe you could take them on in their battleground.
Independence is slearly the way ahead, to exist as a political force in Scotland labour will have to embrace it or cease to exist, which will it be?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Your new MP's job is clearly an embarrassment to you or you would not be on here would you?

Since I deleted it a couple of days ago I can't remember the details, sometimes I don't get past the first sentence with some of them. By far the most common reasons for not getting printed is inappropriate language or unsubstantiated accusations, perhaps this helps, you are flattering yourself if you claim that I can't deal with your comments.

My MP had a background in IT - why should I be embarrassed about that? I think you jumped to the wrong conclusion

SNP did not get what they wanted, they wanted to help Labour keep the tories out. Miliband stated that he would rather a Tory government than the SNP helping him in. (utter folly)

Let us do some arithmetic (get your abacus ready).

The Tories got 331 seats
Labour Got 232 seats...
Difference of 99 Seats...
SNP got 56 Seats...
Labour short 43 seats.

Labour would still have been short 43 seats had every person in Scotland voted Labour to a man.

What this does suggest is that there is something fundamentaly wrong, we all vote for a party and wind up with the Tories.

The yes campaign spelled this out, vote for Independence and we will never have a tory government again, but Better Together insisted that Tory rule was good for us.

Your party failed miserably across the board for one simple reason... the party superceded its principles for the sake of right wing English votes.

Labour will have to chose... Right wing (since 97) to ensure success in England, or...

Left Wing ensuring success in Scotland.

Trouble for Labour is they cant have both. It seems the bell is tolling.

Dont care if you post this up, these are facts and you cannot change them.

Everything you stand for (i do believe that you are a man who wants the best for his neighbors) has been washed from the party you love. If you are anywhere near as astute as you think you are, you will know that.

I find it difficult to believe that anyone still actually thinks that the snp did not want a Tory government. A tory government gives them the opportunity to continue blaming The English for the hardship which is coming. The fate of those who will suffer the most means nothing to the snp, nothing apart from separation matters to them and if the Scottish people have to go through 5 more years of misery the snp think that that is worth it. “Miliband stated that he would rather a Tory government than the SNP helping him in.” You are a liar, Milliband never said that. Your deception over the numbers is obvious; we can all do the maths. The English voters who were considering a hung parliament were deliberately scared off by Cameron holding up the evidence of what the snp were demanding and the snp were happy to assist him. “but Better Together insisted that Tory rule was good for us” another blatant lie no one from any party claimed that any individual party was better than anyone else, that’s because the referendum was not about political parties it was about the constitution. "these are facts and you cannot change them" your post is a tissue of lies.

Tory victory was a second prize for SNP. A Labour minority dependent on SNP was 1st prize.

This would have given the SNP more power than they have now. at this point they are about as impotent as Labour have previously been.

However Terry is right, a Tory majority is another tail wind for independence and it again shows that voting Labour is hopeless when dwarfed by English constituency count.

Certainly its another 5 years of Tory 'joy' for the people at the bottom of the ladder.

However since Labour already said they are the workers party not the out work party I'm not sure how much worse a Tory over Labour majority would have been.

Noises in press again around creation of 'independent' Scottish Labour party.....

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Running Man said Tuesday, May 12, 2015 2:44:00 p.m.

First prize was a Tory government and the snp provided it. If you regurgitate this rubbish again it will not be printed, you are trying to convince yourself.

I was really devastated that Labour failed so miserably to win enough seats in england to keep the Tories out. Looks like Labour are going to be moving even further to the right now. :-(

NO voters getting their reward now with a Tory majority and a new brutal budget in July....

All underwritten by Labour during the referendum campaign. Shoulder to shoulder with the Tories like real class warriors.

Just so they could retain the status quo and keep Labour MP's on the gravy train....

Ten minutes after Labour delivered a No vote the Tories shafted them and the Scots by breaking the status quo. If you run wae the foxes Terry.....

There are not many left who don’t accept that the snp helped the Tories to their majority. The Scottish SUN said “vote snp”. The SUN in the rest of the UK said “vote Tory”. What is it that you don’t understand?. How is that referendum demand and the demand for Full Fiscal Autonomy going?. Have you ever felt that you have been taken for a ride?.

If you were really devastated you would be writing to the snp and complaining about them helping the Tories in to power.

Running Man said...

It was that doughball Miliband that walked the Tories into Downing street. He just didn't have what it takes.

Labour were losing votes to UKIP and Greens in England and SNP in Scotland, even if we had all been stupid enough to vote Labour we would still have Tories. ... exactly as we had in last election.

Only people throwing this SNP gave us the Tories is blind diehards like yourself.

Tory percentage of vote was less than 1% different than last election.....just think about that Terry....

Even Andy Burnham agrees that there is a case for an independent Scottish Labour party...

Seem's I have more of a grip on your party strategy than you have Terry.

Problem for you though is if there is a need to split out Labour party it shows the 'British' model is broken...

Never in political history in these islands have so many spineless people been members of the same toxic despotic party as the snp.
