ARTHUR SCARGILL - STILL STANDING - STILL DEFYING THE TORIES - A UNION MAN TO BE PROUD OF.

If the Telegraph or “Torygraph” as it’s known is correct when it states that Arthur Scargill tried to make a killing by using ‘right to buy’ to purchase his flat in London then I can’t help but wonder what he did with all the money he was given according to the same sources by the Russians and Colonel Gadaffi? .

I also noted that the BBC said that “it looks like Arthur Scargill may have been right after all about pit closures” this stems from recent disclosures which reveal unequivocally that he was indeed right. All these years later the establishment can’t say the words Scargill was right. The fact that the right wing establishment are still on his case after all this time suggests to me that he should feel proud of his actions. We need trade union leaders today like Arthur Scargill, how much have the bosses and their parliamentary wing in the Tory party spent over the past years to try to discredit Scargill, Benn, Livingstone, Skinner etc.?.

We are all in this together the Tories and their cowardly Libdem partners tell us, Scargill and people like them knew that we will never all be in this together until we rid ourselves of the rotten to the core capitalist system which allows parasites like Cameron, Osborne, the truly odious Clegg  and Boris Johnstone to thrive. Don’t be fooled by these people this is a class war we are involved in and the enemy does not recognise any rules, in a decent society they would be recognised for what they are, low life criminals.

Reports of our demise are however an exaggeration to paraphrase Mark Twain, we are still standing and we will continue to struggle, we have to it’s a struggle for the future.

Terry, Terry, you don't listen...I made this point in another post...Barmy Arthur was/is being sued by his own union, the NUM.

Think about it, a past President, taken to court by his own union. That is surely a first.

Do you support the NUM or Arthur? Even with your elastic principles, you can't do both.

"Think about it, a past President, taken to court by his own union. That is surely a first"

This displays incredible ignorance, either that or deliberate lies. Legal disputes between union members, politicians, Rock stars, writers, did you miss the press inquiry? Murdoch, etc. etc. Between today's NUM and Scargill I support Arthur Scargill 100%. Lots of people and papers who lied about him and the miners are now in jail, are you back living in a cage?.

Big on bluster, but short on facts yet again, Kelly.

Scargill, a past President, faces the NUM, his own union, in court. Give me a precedent for that.

'Lots of people and papers are in jail for lying about him and the miners.' Who are these people and what papers? Name names, Councillor.

ha ha ha, and yet even through all this you still think Tory rule is better than independence for the people you allegedly represent, you even scathingly mention the Tory and libdem all in this together lies but continue to support the lie that we are BETTER TOGETHER, you are corkscrewing yourself into the ground with your constant twisting and turning. You claim the establishment lies about scargill but not about independence? you even sanction posh boys like Hague and Clegg telling us what to do and Cameron's refusal to debate whether we are better together.
The moral ineptitude you showed when refusing to condemn new labours push to the right to win seats in middle England has now been surpassed by your unrelenting determination to continue to defend the Tory party funding and relentless lying to support the better together campaign.

How do you square that Terry, the british establishment lie about everything except Scottish Independence, no wonder you and your party leaders (Cameron Milliband, Clegg, because they are virtually one party now) don't want to debate independence. How can you support the Tory's lying to the people of Scotland, how can you, do you have no pride, do you feel no shame climbing into bed with them?

If you think that you have anything to gain by going over points that have been argued over God knows how many times you are a moron. I disagree with what you have to say and I have said that often enough. I am being kind to you by printing this guff but don't do it again.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The people and the organisations who said these things about Scargill are the same ones who have been jailed and exposed as liars as a result of Leveson and they are the same people that you are quoting now.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I have explained to you already that people and their own organisations including unions are no strangers to the courts opposing each other, you go and research it.

You are right people are not in Jail for lying about him they are in jail for other crimes but they are the same people and the same organisations who lied about him and repeated attempts to have a public enquiry in to their behaviour have been refused.Hopefully that will happen in the future.

Well Terry don't print my comments then if you can't answer the question, how do you square your anti Tory stance on lying about Scargill, to your sycophantic approval of them lying about independence. I can answer for you if you like, because you are only following orders from the London labour party and for that you should be ashamed.

Kelly, my little Class Warrior, even by your abysmal standards, these are weak replies.

This time, it isn't the Tories who are gunning for Barmy Arthur, it's his own bloody union.

Your headline says 'Scargill... a Union man to be proud of.' Tell that to the lads at Barnsley NUM HQ,....they're the ones taking him to court.

And research indicates a union taking it's ex-President - or an ex-President taking his union- to trial has never happened before.

Arthur always was an innovative crackpot.

Just dropped in to see what you were saying and I was thrilled that you used a quote from a fellow American Mark Twain to help get your point across. There are few people “more American” than Mark Twain, some more "grist for your mill".
He was an outspoken anti-racist and abolitionist at a time of intense racism. If you’re lucky, you might have learned that he was an early supporter of women’s rights and a campaigner for women’s suffrage. What they don’t teach us in school, however, was that Twain was a fervent anti-imperialist, and very critical of capitalism; that he wholeheartedly supported the labor movement; that he criticized organized religion and Christianity. Mark Twain was painfully aware of many people’s inclinations to go along with prevailing evils. When slavery was lawful, he recalled, abolitionists were “despised and ostracized, and insulted” — by “patriots.” As far as Twain was concerned, “Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul. With chiseled precision, he wielded language as a hard-edged tool. “The difference between the right word and the almost right word,” he once commented, “is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug.” Here are a few volts of Twain’s lightning that you probably never saw before:
* “Who are the oppressors? The few: the king, the capitalist and a handful of other overseers and superintendents. Who are the oppressed? The many: the nations of the earth; the valuable personages; the workers; they that make the bread that the soft-handed and idle eat.”
* “Why is it right that there is not a fairer division of the spoil all around? Because laws and constitutions have ordered otherwise. Then it follows that laws and constitutions should change around and say there shall be a more nearly equal division.”
* “I am an anti-imperialist. I am opposed to having the eagle put its talons on any other land.”

Thanks Arthur for those comments. As a boy I loved mark Twain and as an adult I grew to respect him greatly.

Some clowns have a natural talent for shooting their own foot off with their comments and this comment of yours about Stevie Deans is a classic of the genre.

You are a class a number one arse hole.

It`s good to have Socialist principles you might explain them to Mr.Scargill some time.A man who has 3 residences & fiddled his members out of £000s doesn`t really fit into that category of person. His mis-use of votes in Conferences also tarnishes his "rabid" speeches on democracy.
