The crazy snp bean counters have been hoping that the questions about currency would go away; even they; mad as they undoubtedly are should be getting the message now which is that it is going nowhere. It continues to get more difficult for them to avoid answering significant questions and there are a lot more to come. The bug eyed separatists are now publicly disagreeing with one another on the currency and it can of course get very ugly when thieves fall out, the ferrets are limbering up to get in to the sack. John Swinney wants a currency union that he cannot guarantee, while Yes Scotland board member and political 'titan' Patrick Harvie wants a new currency.
Where will it all end? I hear you ask, if you were to set out to build a template of a nonentity you would come up with a hybrid of Swinney and Harvie, have you ever seen a so called major politician so out of his depth as the former and one so utterly phony as the latter. A shell of a man Swinney and a chancer Harvie who inhabits a sham position because of the bizarre vagaries of the political system which put him where he is, a man who has truly "risen without trace".
They are part of a lightweight and inadequate consortium who are now starting to disintegrate, "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold" (WB Yeats) I ask again; will the wee demented spiv Salmond find a way of calling off the referendum charade to avoid humiliation?

Swinney, unlike anyone in previous Labour adminstrations at Holyrood, has managed to spend every penny of our pocket money every fiscal year since 2007. You might think that's easy: if it is, why couldn't your party do it?

The snp and Swinney's record is deplorable in Government, Scotland is far worse off with them in charge, he couldn't organise a turn of cleaning the tenement stairs and if he were in the Labour Party or even the Tory party he would not be allowed to make the tea. A completely talentless over promoted nonentity, another Salmond yes man.
Kelly, you really do need to research your quotes. This beats the pants off the Yeats version and sums up your First Ministers 'can do' attitude. "Mon centre cède, ma droite recule, situation excellente, j'attaque.."
Ferdinand Foch, Marshall of France, wrote this in 1914.Yeats pinched it...and you call Burns a plagiarist.
You didn't answer the question. Swinney has spent every penny available to him. Your party couldn't. Why is that? Your comment about the Tory party is telling: you have more regard for a right wing party than you do for a social democratic one, simply because the latter has taken power from Labour. I smell your fear.
". A completely talentless over promoted nonentity,"
Talking about yourself again?
Hey, Stalin lover, I don't suppose you caught the BBC Alba documentary on the children of the gulag? Watch it and maybe, even you, may shed a tear and question your views on the monster.

I have always put my name to everything I write, I don’t insult people from a position of hiding and I regard those who do as cowards and beneath contempt and more often than not nationalists.

I tend not to get involved in statistical arguments, I find them sterile and impossible to prove, they are generally put forward by people who hide behind figures and have no political anchor. I can bombard you with figures which you will deny and you can do the same it’s pointless.
The Tories? You have got me there I have always secretly loved the Tory party in much the same way that the snp secretly love the Nazis.

Never heard this accusation before, it could be possible but it’s a bit tenuous. If Yeats did pinch it he had good taste.
Byeck you are wrong. Many army generals have used this phrase: Lee used it at Gettysburg when he decided to attack the Union centre on Cemetary Ridge. He said 'the enemy has reinforced on both flanks but their centre cannot hold'. Napoleon used a very similar phrase at Austerlitz. Yeats uses the phrase as a trope not as a description. The two phrases are grammatically similar but not semantically equivalent.

Is it time for the SNP aristocracy to put their seals on a new "Declaration of Arbroath" and send it off to the Pope in Rome for ajudication, is Cameron the new "Hammer of the Scots"? Will the lot be excommunicated? Is Carlisle safe from "Black Douglas" wi a legal blunted Skean Dhu. Will "Wee Eck's" brother be forced on the Irish as king? The bookies should have a field day wi this Hollywood remake.

Sound comments and expert advice from an Irish Papist Socialist domiciled in the American colonies in the great city of Chicago. The snp will lap it up, were Scotland separate and under the snp yoke however it would probably cause an international diplomatic incident.

I salute you sir/madam; an admirable contribution, not least because I have learned a new word “trope” I like it.
“The two phrases are grammatically similar but not semantically equivalent”----- What can I say except, I wish I had said that. Knowing Byeck as I do however he will no doubt find a way of avoiding the admission that he has been corrected and rather eloquently at that.
Kelly @ 11.06
Councillor,'trope' is a new one on me, too, so congratulations to 'Anon.'
However, the dear lad simply underlines my point...whoever said it first, Yeats said it last.

Exactly as I predicted, graceless and completely lacking in class.
If I was a dyed in the wool British unionist like you, the last thing I'd want would be for the referendum to be cancelled: after all, this is an opportunity for you and your Tory consitutional soulmates to bury independence for at least a generation. But deep down you know that's not going to happen...I predict a narrow loss by the Yes campaign next year, and after that the drive for devomax or a federal UK will be pretty unstoppable. We'll end up with de facto rather than de jure independence, and lots of Labour MPs will be fighting like rats in a sack for a safe seat at Holyrood. Look on the bright side: at least the Labour party in Holyrood might have a chance of attracting geniuses like Connarty or Davidson into the Scottish parliament.

This is another example of why you people need anonymity. I would prefer to see Salmond’s humiliation with a withdrawal from the separation campaign and then the humiliating defeat at the referendum for the nut cases who are left. Anyone who predicts anything other than a landslide victory for the No campaign is either a liar or a fool.
The humiliation is coming because the snp separation premise is based on anti English racism and the politics of grievance and the Scottish people do not buy such gutter politics. The No campaign is based on the unity of the UK just like in WW11 when people of all persuasions and political backgrounds stood together, except of course the snp and their supporters who were rather enamoured with Hitler and his lovely fascist chums.
i just love your site, chuckles. it makes me laugh :_)

Laughter when used skilfully is a very potent weapon.
Whether or not Patrick Harvie has "risen without trace" at least, unlke you, he has risne
Anonymous said...Monday, May 06, 2013 4:50:00 pm
How dare you, I have risne in my own hard working modest way to the dizzying heights of being a Local Councillor. In addition I have; unlike Mr. Harvie; done this without turning myself into an obsequious, crawling, subserviant, back biting little pile of effluent.
