THATCHER’S PASSING IS A GOOD TIME TO REMIND OURSELVES THAT WE MUST KEEP OUR EYE ON THE BALL.

Comparisons are of course odious but; with the passing of Thatcher and considering the mob in Downing Street now. This is a good time to consider the words of a great German playwright on the demise of Hitler.

"Do not rejoice in his defeat, you men. For though the bastard is dead, the bitch that bore him is in heat again" (Bertolt Brecht)

The message is, don't ever assume that the Tories will never come up with someone worse than Thatcher, they are already competing for her crown now in Downing Street, in the shires, in the great banking houses and in the rest of the criminal fraternity which pollutes our society.

ORGANISE!

Thatcher was a secular Jesus, unlike Adolf Blair, who with your support turned Britain into a far-left Nazi police state.

"Thatcher was a secular Jesus"

So which one of them was the cross dresser then?

I see Rayleen is still ghostwriting for her dad. That would explain the improved standards of wit on here compared to five years ago.

Councillor, I was about to take issue with you on Baroness Thatcher. I had a well-reasoned argument prepared. Then I remembered, you're the guy who thinks Stalin was a humanitarian, Castro was democratically elected and that the Mad Fifer was the greatest PM in the last 100 years.

I'm going for a pint instead.

a lovely eulogy from ed miliband to mr thatcher, the mother, of new labour

Terry, For the first time in my life, I agree with your comments here 100%. You are so right. Thatcher was horrific for Scotland and the Tories are doing it all again. The bedroom tax is hammering those who can least afford it, the Tories are chopping away at the NHS in England so will reduce the Barnet like for like payments to Scotland. They are spending billions on Trident replacements while people have to visit food banks to survive. They want to finance their pals building nuclear power stations all over the UK.

If only there was a way to avoid all this....

Byeck.

Just as well you are not given to exaggeration. There is a career waiting for you with Murdoch.

Terry, you've always struck me as a closet Sun reader. After all, The Sun is aimed at those with a reading age of seven

Being able to spot a closet Sun reader would mean that you are de facto a Sun reader NOAH. Just put it down to experience, no need to thank me.

Ed's words were carefully chosen and very clever, he very skilfully navigated a rather tricky situation. I suspect though that you don't have a clue what I'm on about do you?

There is, join the Labour Party.

But Labour support all the major current Tory policies....welfare reform, paid tertiary education, renewal of trident.... Why not just miss out the middle man and join the Tories directly ?

Running Man said...

Why join Labour ? They support the same policies as the Tories with the exception of increasing borrowing to fund 'infrastructure' projects' there is no difference.

People could just miss out the middle man and join the Conservative and Unionist Party.

I've been a member of the Labour party for over 40 years and if our policies were the same as the Tories I would have noticed.

I know this might sound harsh but it's for your own good. You talk crap and you are a half wit.

I answered this same question which you sent an hour earlier by calling you a half wit. Please accept my apologies for that remark, it seems that there genuinely is something which is causing you a problem.

"Where are the major differences ? Specifically around the examples I gave ?"

Your examples are lies and not in the least bit subtle. 1/ Welfare reform? is supported by everyone and always has been, the differences are in what kind of welfare reform. 2/ paid tertiary education? again there are no mainstream political parties who suggest abolition of this. Labour want to see all state assistance and help removed from this kind of education which would make it wither and die. We believe 100% in comprehensive education for all and the complete removal of privilege, what do the other parties suggest, what about the snp e.g. 3/ Renewal of Trident? Labour are implacably opposed to nuclear weapons of all kinds and in all countries. This is the snp’s most consistent and cruel hoax on some gullible people, their position is now one of bogusly campaigning for abolition in Scotland while they can support NATO who will still be able to use them, cowards and liars.

Terry,
Labour in the main abstained on bedroom tax vote, SNP voted against. Tories and Lib Dems(in the main)voted for. I know which end of that vote I am on and I know where you think you are as well. Why do you slavishly support poor decision making by Labour leadership ? You will know that housing benefit changes are a reaction to issues in London while here in Scotland rental increases in public housing have been minimal by comparison.

SNP have said they will not require students to pay for their tertiary education. Labour,Lib Dems and naturally the Tories all support student fees. You could not get a fag paper between any of the 3 in that policy, only the SNP are different.

WMD, I see you roll out that usual mantra of we'll do it if everyone does. Knowing full well it's an end of the rainbow policy, in that you can never get there. At least have the balls to say it's about retaining global international influence and keeping the US sweet. We only needed to see Jim Murphy on Sunday on Scottish Politics show lap dogging to Republican Defence Analyst live on TV.

Labour are opposed to the bedroom tax, because you don’t understand what went on does not make you right, it simply means not surprisingly that you don’t understand. Housing benefit changes are not a reaction to what happens in Engurland or as you put it London they are a reaction to what happens in the UK. The snp University policies are racist. The snp are different, they are worse than any of the others. Your risible claims on WMD’S were blown out of the water by the NATO vote, why don’t you go over your spurious claims for a third time?
