Over the past couple of days, Friday/Saturday I have been arguing and trading insults with some rather unpleasant snp people who seem to have their base at the University of the West of Scotland.
They
are running a debate about independence and they thought it would be a good idea to start advertising the debate by insulting people who will be at the debate who do not agree with them, particularly Labour MSP Jackie Baillie. They also say they want to start a debating society at the Uni. although "come along to the UWS debating society and be intimidated and insulted by the snp students" does not seem like a good way of getting things started. The contributions of Mr. Andrew Ballantyne who seems to be a kind of hanger on with the students are particularly illuminating; he is rather like A Scottish "Bullingdon Boy" who claims to be the owner of two businesses despite being unable to string a sentence together.
Guess what? Today Sunday, I find that the correspondence has disappeared! vanished in the "Scotch. Mist" I have no idea why this has happened and who is responsible but I would not blame the snp mob if they wanted to prevent any more people from seeing what passes for discussion and debate between them. I would be delighted if whoever took it down though would explain why; or put it back, the people deserve to see this.

Today Monday and the snp chaps and chapesses who man the 'freedom for Scotland" barricades at the UWS still have not responded to my plea to have the correspondence put back and to resume hostilities with me, am I that scary? can they possibly be feart? where have they gone? They sounded so tough and bullish as well, are these the people who want to become independent? Who want to kick out the Engurlish from their Grannie's Heilan Hames, who want to liberate every But n Ben from the settlers and colonists (topical point there) The geeks who want to rewrite history and exclude Engurland's magnificent World Cup win? Replace Shakespeare with Burns, Olivier with Sean Connery and Bobby Charlton with Jim Baxter, tomorrow is another day and quite frankly I don't give a damn what they do. I will be waiting with my sturdy shield of honour and my trusty sword of fair play, I shall return to this and continue to do so until the bunch of wee heilan stoats dare to show themselves. Meanwhile spare a thought at this time for the beleaguered UWS it seems to be in need of an enema.

The usual incoherent nonsense. Has the SNP ever said anything about expelling English people from Scotland? If you can't give an example, perhaps you might admit that you made that up. After all, it's not as though an independent Scotland would be likely to follow the example of someone like De Valera in the way he allowed the intimidation and expulsion of Protestants and Jews from the Irish Free State, is it? That's an example of the type of ethnic nationalism I'd expect you to despise, yes?

Snp people that I have spoken to want to expel everyone who is not as they put it “a true Scot.” Then build an apartheid style wall across the border with England.
De Valera who was no friend of mine or my Irish Ancestors was indeed an Ethnic nationalist and as such would have felt very comfortable in the snp.
However, In 1966, the Dublin Jewish community arranged the planting and dedication of the Éamon de Valera Forest in Israel, near Nazareth in recognition of his consistent support for Ireland's Jews. Ireland's long running wars with Britain created tensions between Irish Catholics and Protestants but even then De Valera was responsible for legislation which guarded the rights of all Irish citizens including Jews and Protestants.
I detect a certain animosity to the Irish in your comment and that is not uncommon among the snp’s sinister ethnic brand of nationalism. It is also fuelled by deeply ingrained anti Irish/Catholic sectarianism and racism in Scotland. This is further exacerbated by the historical fact that the Irish fought the British invader every step of the way and paid the price in blood while the Scots. took to the pubs and sang songs about freedom and watched ‘braveheart’
as a catholic alter boy who grow up in glenburn, paisley, it is you who sounds like the bigot mr kelly.
strange that over the years, the individuals who herald their irish catholic ancestry were the ones who i very rarely administered ccommunion to when serving at st peter's, church

I neither herald nor do I deny my Irish Catholic background and would not have brought it up had you not raised it.
I find it difficult to believe what you say because I don’t trust people who write anonymously to me. And I note that you did not challenge any of the points I made. Are you one of those who sit in pubs singing about Scottish freedom and watching braveheart? You are a bit creepy are you not?
Animosity to the Irish? Not at all. My great grandparents were Irish immigrants, I was brought up as a Catholic, and I lived and worked in Ireland for a number of years. I don't have a problem with the Irish: but I'm always amused by those Scots who pretend to be Irish.
Your last paragraph only advertises your tendency to see everything in black and white. Did you know that the occupiers of the GPO in O'Connell St in 1916 were booed by their countrymen and women in the streets of Dublin after they were arrested? So much for the Irish fighting the British every step of the way.

“Animosity to the Irish? Not at all. My great grandparents were Irish immigrants,”
And some of your best friends are probably Jews aren't they phantom altar boy?
“Did you know that the occupiers of the GPO in O'Connell St in 1916 were booed by their countrymen and women in the streets of Dublin after they were arrested?”
Yes of course and then turned in to Ireland’s greatest ever heroes by the brutal British retaliation, so what has that got to do with it? Scotland’s bravest rebellion was a student prank to steal the Stone of Scone, which the brave nationalists sing about still.
Did you know that the snp campaigned against fighting Hitler and the Nazis in WW II ? Makes you proud to be snp doesn't it.
you are confused, terry. i'm the phantom alter boy. although i did serve mass under, cannon grace, father cunningham, monsignor mcgrory, father o'dowd, etc.
maybe i dreamt it all.
like the original poster, i too, can claim irish ancestry, however, i will campaign for a Yes vote in the referendum.

I’m very happy for you but I’m not quite sure what point you are trying to make, is it possible you feel a bit ashamed at where your political journey has taken you?
If you and AN other continue to be anonymous I will continue to call you anything I like, if you don’t like it ID yourself, are you that ashamed?
