AN ISRAELI LEVEL PLAYING FIELD ?

Here's a little snippet which shows what it's like to be a Palestinian living under the Israeli occupation. An England V Palestine football match was suggested and as a result a three week tour of a Palestinian under 19 team was arranged, they were preparing to come to the UK when the British Consulate in Jerusalem refused their passport applications, This is how the Palestinians are treated by us currying favour with Israel and America, shameful.

The consulate say they were afraid that they might abscond, Britain colluded with the brutal Israel state in creating their conditions which are desperate and now we prevent them from taking part in sport.

Can't you see the cruel shadow created by the USA and Israel over these people's lives, and we here lie down to them, kids playing football for god's sake, I'm ashamed to be British.

As for Israel, they are not concerned by young footballers, this is a state consumed by guilt.

Councillor,
Re. your Palestinian Under 19's item.
Who suggested that Hezbollah Celtic should tour the UK?

Who was to pay for the trip?

If the Israelis are so oppressive, how come they were prepared to allow the jolly sportsmen out?

Was this article co-written by George Galloway?

So speaks the sniveling mouthpeace of the jihadists.

Another Terry Kelly masterpiece of jew hating.

Byeck - it doesn't take much scratching to uncover a bigot, does it ?

anon - if you were really that angry you wouldn't cling to anonymity, your anger is synthetic and pathetic.

"It doesn't take much scratching to uncover a bigot."

I admire your courage in printing this searing self-appraisal.

Now, about this statue to Mandela. Why has he not spoken out or used his influence, against Mugabe and other African infestations ?

The man is a racist charlatan who dumped his wife when things got hot.

He and Winnie were a matching set.

Byeck the Bigot - I couldn't possibly refuse to print this could I ?

I'm off to wash my hands now.

I concede that you may well see Mandela in a different light to me, but are you also saying that you support Mugabe?

I'm ashamed to be British.

To be fair, I'm ashamed that you are British as well.

Byeck - no - he is one of many African tyrants created or supported by western imperialism.

Harry Haddock - you can depend on it that your comment cheers me greatly - If I'm getting anger from people like you, that's fine.

I will continue to tell the truth as I see it warts and all, you keep wrapping yourself in the flag like the other 'scoundrels'

Er...I think most true blue Western Imperialists like me supported Ian Smith rather than the Mad Mugabe.

It was Wilson's Labour Govt who decided that Bob was A Good Thing.

The fact is that he was a murderous thug whose mob, amongst other things, shot down an airliner and raped the female survivors

Just a thought, but if we pull our troops out of Iraq & Afghanistan, we could perhaps send 3 Para on a goodwill visit to Harare.

Councillor, here as a quote from Teddy Roosevelt, no less, that you might be interested in.

Let me say at once that I am no advocate of a foolish cosmopolitanism. I believe that a man must be a good patriot before he can be, and as the only possible way of being, a good citizen of the world. Experience teaches us that the average man who protests that his international feeling swamps his national feeling, that he does not care for his country because he cares so much for mankind, in actual practice proves himself the foe of mankind; that the man who says that he does not care to be a citizen of any one country, because he is the citizen of the world, is in fact usually an exceedingly undesirable citizen of whatever corner of the world he happens at the moment to be in. In the dim future all moral needs and moral standards may change; but at present, if a man can view his own country and all others countries from the same level with tepid indifference, it is wise to distrust him, just as it is wise to distrust the man who can take the same dispassionate view of his wife and mother. However broad and deep a man's sympathies, however intense his activities, he need have no fear that they will be cramped by love of his native land.

Have you any thoughts?

Patrick

Why is there a link to join the Labour Party on this site when the British Consulate - under Labour Govt instructions has banned this Palestinian team?
Anonymous because when I told you who I was you accused me of having a monstrous ego in thinking you would know me, even though you had asked me who I was.

Patrick - do I really need to spell it out ? When Britain acts as it did over the young Palestinian footballers it is I M O a cause for shame, when we send medical teams to 3rd. world countries it's a source of pride, that's not hard to understand is it ?

When my country is wrong I admit it and I criticise it, I think that's far better than 'my country right or wrong' 'it's horrible behaviour but at least it's British'

The quote from Roosevelt has prevailed for hundreds of years and displays the attitude that causes wars and cruelty around the planet - it's a philosophy of despair and it will some day have to change.

Evil people use it to persecute others, 'the last refuge of a scoundrel' see these quotes eh !

Anon - I don't know whether you understand or not but I'm not speaking for the Labour Party.
You've lost me with the other anon stuff.

You're not speaking for the Labour Party but you want people to join.

anon - correct ! perhaps you don't understand, the top of this blog explains this, I thought.
