LABOUR’S SADIQ KHAN IS THE NEW LONDON MAYOR .

Here is something from the “big” election for those who say Labour can’t win a UK General Election, think again, if you genuinely want the Tories out, it has to be Labour.

As well as taking the British capital city Mayoralship from the Tories, Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party are set to take control of 2 of the 4 British Parliaments, the Welsh & London assemblies respectively.

This comes on top of winning the National Poll, leading in the number of councillors seats won, and increasing Labour's share of the national vote 4%[as the Tories share dropped 5%]. All of this was achieved as under Corbyn the Labour vote over the tories has been dragged up from 14 points down to 1 point ahead.
LAB: 31% | CON: 30% | LDEM: 15% | UKIP: 12% [Lab vote up 4% / Cons down 5%)]

Londoners the workers of the UK salute you.

And in Scotland?

What would you know about work?.....A suspended anti Semite that has ust witnessed his rabble being demoted to third place by tartan Tories.

Up the workers! Vive the Internationale! Throw off your chains!

Grow up you muppet. This is municipal government, all dog dirt and rubbish bins, not the opening shot in some great class war.

Scottish politics is in no way as important as the politics of the UK.

Dazed And Confused said... - A very apt title for you, I am approaching 70 and I worked until I retired, I am not an anti Semite, I have been accused of anti Semitism by a right wing reactionary blogger and that accusation is quite rightly being investigated and I look forward to that investigation, unlike the SNP who would have done nothing as they did with Sandra White MSP. You predictably lay an undue emphasis on Scottish results it's embarrassing parochialism and it's pathetic. The UK has approximately 65 million citizens 5 million of whom are Scottish, ergo the UK general election is the important one.

Anonymous... - Your grasp of politics is obviously very tenuous, what happened in England and Wales is a good indicator for Labour at the next UK general election and that's the election that really matters.

There is a Capital city of the british state? I did not know that.

Terry In the UK general election the electorate elected 56 out of 59 Scottish National party mp's. lest you forget.

So in the most important election (your words) the Scottish electorate resoundingly spoke, as your ally in the unionist duopoly once said . ' Scottish independence is a simple thing all they need to do is return a majority of mp's to westminster' maggie thatcher 1979.

Yes the general election is far more important. The SNP were the only showin town for Scotland.

Now you are saying that Scottish results dont matter and that you are concerning yourself with how well Labour are doing in England instead. Absolutely laughable.

If you are nearing 70 then, mentally, it is showing. How you can make a statement such as that when you reside in Scotland is truly telling.

You are a Labour fanboy, all about the party, never about policy.

You are a hollowed out statue of a days gone by Labour man. It is a pleasure to watch.

The 56 MP's were Westminster MP's it wasn't a Scottish election it was a UK election and the Tories unfortunately aided by the SNP won an overall majority of Mp's. Is it too complicated for you?.

I didn’t say that Scottish votes don’t matter, they matter in a Holyrood election because Holyrood is a Scottish election, all the votes that matter in a UK election are UK votes, you don’t seem to be able to grasp that fact do you. If you want to argue about this you should at least try to understand which election is which, or is that too difficult for you?.

Regarding UK elections, how come if the Labour Party is a UK party it doesn't stand in Northern Ireland then?
After all it is part of the UK.

Therefore to be a 100% UK party it should be standing candidates there, doesn't look like any of the other "major" UK parties do either, so they, like the Labour Party cannot claim to represent all of the UK

Think the only party who stand candidates in Northern Ireland is, funnily enough, UKIP

You are the one glossing over the facts. United Kingdom is a collection of countries, not the same one.

Otherwise there would be no need to differentiate.

The sooner you realise the implication of the nuances of this Island the easier it will be for you.

No outright Country would be arguing the toss that a chunk of it should or should not walk away.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The Labour Party has a sister party in Northern Ireland which has been the arrangement for some time and the Tory Party has an arrangement with several sister parties in Northern Ireland. Is that confusing for you?.

Stop making a fool of yourself, people who live in that part of the UK known as Scotland are British, that's why the SNP send MP'S to Westminster.

I'm unclear as to how the SNP "aided" the tories in the last GE. Could you expand on that?

Terry.

Britain was the Roman name for England and Wales.

We're not British. They never conquered us. They spent the modern day equivalent of billions keeping us out of britain. We now know they tried at least 240 times to conquer us. They failed.

So, if you want to have the remotest credibility, you need to address your fellow Scots as Great British (King James 6/1) or Ukanian (UKGB&NR).

Anything else is a fantasy.

I know that you SNP people take no interest in anything outwith Scotland but, the SNP and Sturgeon in particular in the run up to the election set out to scare English voters by declaring that the SNP would form a coalition with Labour in Westminster and issued statements about what the SNP would demand for forming that coalition and those demands terrified a lot of English voters into voting Tory to prevent this happening. It was SNP lies and duplicity of the worst kind but normal for them.

What can I say Jamie but 'och aye the noo' did you know that when England beat Scotland at Wembley by 9 goals to 3 the referee was bribed by the English? what a British idiot you are.

Interesting you note the English were "scared" into voting Tory. If true, the reason was fear of Scottish interests usurping English interests in Westminster. Quite revealing really. If you're correct it demonstrates perfectly what a stupid arrangement the Union is for Scots and their interests.

It exemplifies what I and many others already know. The best we can hope for while a tiny minority is we get the occasional scrap from the UK/English table. Scotland at best an afterthought, while her people are entirely impotent when it comes to looking after her.

Thanks for demonstrating the absurdity of the Union perfectly Terry.

All the best.

This is of course a common problem when dealing with the snp. You are either incapable of understanding what you are being told or you lie about it. The snp lied constantly in the run up to the election by saying that they would prop up a Labour minority government and they made outrageous statements about what they would demand in return. The wavering English voters were thus scared off and voted Tory. It was a tissue of lies by the snp to prevent Labour winning, and it worked, giving the snp what they wanted, a Tory government and not for the first time. You are now further away from independence than you were at the referendum and that is down to your lies and your stupidity.

Unknown said...

I'm not sure how you can lie in a statement of intent Terry, nor how you could prove it to be a lie. Fancy taking a crack at that?

I assume you are talking about the meeting between Sturgeon and Brian Souter and their Chinese visitors to discuss £10 Billion of projects which would be paid for with Chinese money. If you want to swallow the brazen lies about this being a statement of intent then more fool you, you are either gullible beyond belief or you are a brainwashed zealot who is not capable of thinking for yourself. .

Re: Jamie Spiers,
What do you intend by the phrase '...sweeping us...' Some sort of racial group united by language and blood line perhaps? Perhaps similar to the German speaking peoples or the Nordic 'us'. Perhaps you are united in some sort of deep mystical way with the various peoples of the past that the Romans engaged with? Is that what you mean by 'us'. If you are 'us'. Then who are 'them'. Perhaps those that speak a Latinate language...well that would be you too I suppose. My guess is that you do not speak Scottish Gaeilic. In fact, I have not met one Nationalist that does, for all their talk about the glory of all things 'Scots'.
I think that you do not grasp the full rancid political implications of your infantile 'us'. If you do understand it, then you are worse than a buffoon, you are a dangerous bigot.
By the way, the Romans had a number of names for what is now the British Isles and none of them were 'Britain'. I do not suppose that you speak Latin either. Why bother? You can just jabber on about 'us'.
In Pace Requiescat.
