WEE NICOLA, QUEEN BETTY'S NEW LADY IN WAITING.

I have just witnessed the most excruciatingly funny thing I've ever seen in my life when I saw Nicola Sturgeon trying her best to sing God Save the Queen without moving her lips, she could have easily been standing in front of a firing squad by the looks of her. She gets full marks however for hypocrisy and her willingness to show her 'Janus face' when there is something in it for her. It was a remarkable display of duplicity as she wallowed in the celebrations of Queen Betty's longevity. She was so sycophantic in fact that we were left in no doubt at all that had there been a requirement to sing the whole dirge right through she would have sung this, the last verse, with great gusto.

Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring
May he sedition hush
And like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush
God save the Queen.

To paraphrase Jonathan Swift :- "If you have a Scotsman on a spit you can always pay another Scotsman to turn him for you".

It was actually George Bernard Shaw and the quote was 'Put an Irishman on a spit and you can always find another one to turn him' But please don't let your stupidity get in the way of your pig ignorance, both are amusing in many ways.

Perhaps you are thinking of Jonathon Swift's quote about the Irish; 'A servile race who truckle most when treated worst'

Truckle means yeild weakly councillor.

or perhaps you would prefer some that are applicable to you;

“Fine words! I wonder where you stole them.”
― Jonathan Swift

― Jonathan Swift

“It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.”
― Jonathan Swift

“For in reason, all government without the consent of the governed is the very definition of slavery.”
― Jonathan Swift

“For to enter the palace of learning at the great gate requires an expense of time and forms, therefore men of much haste and little ceremony are content to get in by the back-door.”
― Jonathan Swift, A Tale of a Tub

“There's none so blind as they that won't see.”

“It is the folly of too many to mistake the echo of a London coffee-house for the voice of the kingdom.”

I wasn't thinking of Swift's quote I was paraphrasing him, I thought it appropriate to describe the Damascene conversion of the SNP from republicans to monarchists, they are not known as the meanest people in the world for nothing you know. I congratulate on your knowledge of Swift, how do you manage to keep all that in your head?.

'Put an Irishman on a spit and you can always find another one to turn him' Since you are obviously computer literate there is no excuse for saying that above quote is attributed to GBS and you call me stupid!.

remind my who shook the hand of the Queen in Eire.

move on, Terry, your sounding bitter.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The Irish Republican movement's greatest triumph was when the Queen went to Eire to shake hands with their leaders.

Terry, you seem at odds with the labour leadership, and the conciliatory coming from Corbyn.

Are you sure that labour is the party for you?

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

What post are you referring to?.

Unknown said...

The one titled "Wee Nicola". Not exactly in tune with Mr Corbyn's performance ar PMQ's, is it? I wonder if there is room in Mr Corbyn's party for such venomous rhetoric?

Running Man said...

Are you coming out as an Irishman now Mr Kelly ?

Running Man said...

Seems Corbyn who was a republican has now said he will sing GSTQ in futre and fall into line. Sturgeon is I believe a royalist......

Talk about immediate loss of principles......

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

I still do not know what you are trying to say, are you trying to be clever or something?, that's not a good idea.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

What do you mean?. Your streak of anti Irish sectarianism is showing, anti Irish and anti English eh? you are a gold standard racist bigot aren't you.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

The SNP have always been blessed with a support that is lumpen and malleable hence it's Damascene conversion from Republican to Monarchist when wee alex ordered them to do so. The Labour Party has always had a large number of members who are republicans and we have just voted for a Republican leader, are you, as stupid as you obviously are telling us that Jeremy Corbyn is now a monarchist?.

Running Man said...

Make up your mind Terry I'm anti Irish or Anti English, is it possible to be both in our west coast tribes ? Unlike you I'm not anti Scots.

I'm vehemently anti Anti-Scots like you and your other Westminster sycophants though...... I'm not up for kissing the arse of Westminster toffs, and elites while the hangers on like yourself or Mathieson continue looking for crumbs from the table.

Just so we are clear.

Running Man said...

I said he and his PR people already said he will sing GSTQ in future....already being made maleable. I never said he was a monarchist

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

He is a life long hard line republican right?. He is not as hard line republican as me and I have stood for the national anthem before.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

You are an anti English anti Irish racist bigot. I think I have told you this before so don't go back there, I am not anti anyone because of where they are from, It matters nothing to me where a person comes from, what kind of person they are is all that matters to me. I find people like you to be absolutely repellent but, the fact that you are Scottish, French or from outer Mongolia has nothing to do with it.

Running Man said...

You are anti Scots as you see our push back to Westminster as threatening your status quo.

How many Labour Lords do we have ? Labour party is a hypocritical joke.

Establishment using your party as cover for their dirty work. We've all seen that once you get a taste of the crumbs from the Westminster table you can't tackle the status quo. Lest you lose your place in the rewards queue.

Defending the indefensible.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

"You are anti Scots" Explain to me how I can be anti something that I couldn't care less about. The rest of your post is pathetic.

Cllt Kelly I see you accusing one of this blogs contributors (if that is the correct term, perhaps someone who queries your version of truth) as being a bigot. Can you explain exactly why this individual is indeed a bigot?
Surely you will agree Mr Cllr that people who accuse other's of such ghastly things such as bigotry must first have a clear and definable reason for doing so lest they themselves are guilty of abuse. On line abuse like any abuse is in my view wrong. Please explain this accusation clearly Cllr as I like many more of your constituent's wish to understand your viewpoint before you ask for our votes in May. If you are in an agreeable mood could you also expand on why you called a fellow human being's children moron's?

Unknown said...

Cllr Kelly, may I explain why your comment's may be seen as "anti-Scots" by the mere mortals whom you ask to vote for .

In fact, no, please explain what you mean by "couldn't care less about". Is it the Scottish people that you don't care about?

I also see you failed to reply to the Running Man's clear point regarding Labour peers. Can those you will soon be canvassing for votes assume that you actually support the house of lords?

I also see you called someone a "racist bigot" again Mr Cllr. Please fully justify this insult as I certianly dont want to vote for someone who throws out such horrible insults online without proper justification. It's almost as bad as calling children "moron's" eh Mr Cllr?

People who disagree with me are not bigots, some are. Please don't concern yourself with whether to vote for me I would prefer it if you didn't.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Dougie Chalmers -

“couldn’t care less about” is a standalone statement and I do not believe it necessary to explain it, people who read it in context will get it easily enough. I have only ever named one person as a racist bigot and I stand by that. Perhaps you should ask him why he removed the racist poster from his Facebook? too late as it turns out. I don’t want your vote so don’t concern yourself and, I agree entirely that calling children morons is bad, that’s why I would never do such a thing.
