A POLITICAL GIANT PREPARES TO LEAVE THE STAGE.

Interesting reactions in the Herald’s comments site to Gordon Brown’s decision to retire from front line politics. 32 years in Parliament, Prime Minister, Chancellor of the Exchequer,  victor of the referendum, ender of Alex Salmond's Career holder of a 30,000 majority but. Some Herald readers it seems 'kent his faither' and they try to traduce his achievements with obnoxious criticisms, these are the cretins that we associate with the phrase which welcomes visitors to Scotland, “you’ll have had your tea”.  Scotland must have some of the meanest nasty pinch faced characters in the world. He is regarded world wide as one of the great statesmen and politicians of our times except in the country of his birth by the knuckle dragging nationalists. No doubt they are ‘boaking’ in to their sporrans at the memory of ‘Irn Broon’ kicking their ‘erses’ at the climax of the referendum where he strode the land swatting nationalists like flies and looking like a giant among snp pygmies.

The truth of the matter is that these people are actually pretty dumb and do not see how toxic and embarrassing they are. The fact that Brown has strode the political stage for such a long time and to such effect is not what winds them up the most. He is renowned worldwide, he is one of the cleverest men of his generation, He is 100% solid Labour and 100% solid Scottish. The hatred felt for him by nationalists comes from that last point about his Scottishness, they simply regard anyone who is not a Scottish nationalist with hatred and when that great Scotsman Brown is opposed to nationalism their rage becomes unmanageable. I hope he will be around for a long time to come and I hope he will continue to cast his giant shadow over Scottish nationalism and it’s totalitarian and racist ideals.

All UK Gold reserves sold at rock bottom of market, collapsed pensions in the UK by applying tax to pension dividends and led the UK into its biggest financial crash since the 1930's

Gordon Brown has stated often that given the same circumstances he would do the exact same thing again on gold reserves and pensions. I am therefore left with a dilemma do I side with him or with you?, a difficult decision eh?.

And that would make him right on either occasion because?

Well seem you and Gordon are on one side and the financial world are on another.....

None of what I say you dispute so its clear madness runs politically as well as genetically.

I'm sure you are comfortable with over 100BN being taken from pension funds as you don't have one. Brown has a public funded one so the likes of me who work and pay tax will pay his.

It killed final salary pension schemes. Nice work if you can get it.....

Was it not Brown who scrapped the 10% tax rate ? I'm sure you are a supporter of that too...

I do not dispute what you say on pensions because I do not know enough about the subject I simply trust Gordon Brown more than I trust you. That seems eminently sensible, I feel I know you quite well.

I'm a supporter of Gordon Brown, you've not really got a handle on this business have you?.

"I'm a supporter of Gordon Brown, you've not really got a handle on this business have you?"

and therein lies the reason behind the demise of the labour party. people are pig sick of politicians 'supporting the party' rather than representing the people who voted for them.
Even minor nonentity councillors like you have a duty towards the people who elected them, not to their political party.

you're not really getting a handle on this century yet are you?

Running Man said...

No Terry , you are a supporter of what you are told to support.

It must be heartbreaking to have put your life into something and see it change in front of you into the very thing you were trying to defeat.....St George becomes Dragon......I understand its hard to criticize what your life was based on.

You need to wait and see what Jim Murphy tells you is the correct position on income tax in Scotland.

Can you provide a single quote where Brown has stated this ? Really ?

Anonymous said...

do you think he casts such a large shadow (like you) because of how much he has supped at the public trough?

the reasons for the labour party dying no 1; Gordon Brown.
no 2. War criminal Blair
no 3. the sycophants who supported them.

How long before he joins the rest of the bottom feeding labour lords? who sold their socialist principles for a sniff of ermine and a bucket of cash.

By far the biggest example of a political party with no dissenters in their ranks in our life times is the snp. As I have said already you are not up to this.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

Your ignorance is staggering, by a long way the political supporters who support what their leaders tell them to support are the snp followers.

Whoever becomes Labour leader the membership will not be told by anyone what to do without a majority to support him.Again you are getting us mixed up with the snp and salmond.

That kind of playground jibe is typical of someone who is failing to cope with the realization that they have lost badly, politics is clearly not for you.

The rest of your post is repetitious in the extreme and it got you beaten, you are no longer funny, I'm beginning to feel guilty at taking the piss out of you.

So No quotes from Brown then......Is it all in your imagination Terry ? That Brown would destroy occupational pensions for generations and would do so again ?

I don't recall Gordon Brown saying that he "destroyed occupational pensions for generations" where/when did he say that?. You made that up didn't you?, you really are useless, aren't you?.

Running Man said...

Terry it was youwho said that Brown was quoted multiple times saying that he would make the same changes again given the chance...

Yet somehow you cannot provide a quote...Did you imagine it...or do you just wish it were true ?

More likely you just made it up. Maybe lack of imagination ? Its OK we know you are getting on a bit

Where did Brown say he had "destroyed occupational pensions for generations" ? this is your last chance.

"Gordon Brown has stated often that given the same circumstances he would do the exact same thing again"

This is what you said...So show me a couple of quotes that he says that in?

Often is the clue here for you

your hero will go down in scottish history as an abject failure.

He allowed Blair to re-image the labour party as Tory lite. He allowed the banks and the financial sector licence to corrupt the fabric of society. He did nothing to repeal the Thatcher laws that hamstrung the unions. He never once spoke against the illegal war in Iraq, a war which killed hundreds of thousands of innocents on behalf of corporate America.

And through his scurrilous activities in trying to frighten pensioners into believing that the meagre pension he had left them with would be under threat by independence. When he knew the exact opposite to be true, he has virtually annihilated Labour in Scotland.
And suckers like you that fell for his self aggrandisement will be rightfully scorned.

Since the odious traitorous Gordon Brown is indefensible, can I suggest you indulge in some whitaboutery and point the finger at aliksammon and mention how he was defeated and forced to scurry away.

By the way did you hear Brown begging for a lordship last night? the man is an embarrassment to Scotland.

Cllr Terry Kelly said...

You want me to go and search for you?, why would I do that, do you think I care what you think?.

The Labour Party is not Tory lite, they are constantly under attack from every right wing news outlet and right wing party in the UK including the snp. The banking collapse was world wide and here in Scotland alex salmond was calling at the time for less not more banking regulation. Gordon Brown like most other people does not like wars. He stands by his decisions on pensions and I agree with him not you whoever you are. He has also said that he has no intentions of going to the Lords.

Now, is there anything else I can help you with?.

The labour party under blair, brown and even more so under milliband have espoused thatcherite values to such an extent that she acknowledged them with a visit to no 10 to see your hero and was photographed with him gushing over her.

You never explained why he repealed exactly zero of the thatcher laws which hamstrung the unions.
If broony disliked wars as you say, where's the evidence, he certainly kept his dislike of the Iraq war very close to his chest. There were a million of us marching against it why didn't he join us?

Brown was in charge of financial regulation through the worst series of banking frauds in british history, saying it happened everywhere is disengenious. london is one of the global centres of the banking world, he regulated london, he should shoulder the blame.

his decision to rob the pensions of millions of hard working people was an act of a stone hearted tory and you have the temerity to condone it and still pretend you are a socialist.
He said he had no intention of going to the lords to generate publicity about his wish to go to the lords. I am sure he will have to be dragged there kicking and screaming.

the sad thing is there is some purpose to his duplicity he is now a multi millionaire, what did you get out of it ?

The last Tory government enacted 25 anti union measures and the Labour Government which succeeded it repealed 23 of them. The rest of your post is rubbish and has been dealt with ad nauseam the referendum was such fun wasn't it?. This kind of collection of lies is why you and your fellow thugs lost.
