WHEN GORDON BROWN SPEAKS THE WHOLE WORLD (EXCEPT THE SNP) LISTENS.

Virtuoso performance from Gordon Brown at the book festival, a half hour wide ranging speech without notes demonstrating his prowess as a statesman and political/intellectual heavyweight. His grasp of economics, international and national affairs remains as always; simply awesome.

The decision by BBC Scotland to have Henry McLeish in the studio to discuss brown's speech however only served to highlight the obvious gap in intelligence and charisma which exists between Brown and McLeish, Henry is not alone here though. Their other decision however to put the snp's MSP Derek Mackay in the same position as McLeish though could only be described as downright cruel.

Councillor dear, first your preference for ladies boxing, over beach volleyball, then your heavy breathing when faced with Picasso ladies with strange bosoms and now, not only calling the Mad Fifer 'awesome,' but crediting him with 'charisma.'
Perhaps 'miasma' was the word you were searching for, but whatever, I worry about you, I really do.

“Councillor dear, first your preference for ladies boxing, over ladies beach volleyball”

I have no preference for either” I find both demeaning to women.

“Picasso ladies with strange bosoms” that’s a ‘strange’ comment.
Gordon Brown?

A political and intellectual giant, we haven’t seen his like since Benjamin Disraeli.

less comical articles, please.

He is a political giant much like your self - only around the waist !

He has as much charisma, intelect and charm as your self. Make of that what you want.

I can only make 2 things of this.
1/ Is that it's not an argument and 2/ is that it's written by an anonymous coward, probably by an snp crawler.

"less comical articles, please"

Well, you must be 1 of the snp/separatist/cybernats most eloquent debaters and also another of their anonymous craven cowards.

Boxing and beach volleyball, demeaning to women? If that means you're withdrawing your support from Harriet the Harpys' equal opps crusade, well done you...I haven't lived in vain.
Now, about the Picasso bosoms...they're figments of a fevered imagination...trust me, I'm from Emmerdale Country and know these things.
And comparing the Mad Fifer to Disraeli...you do have your tongue firmly planted in your cheek, dont you, you rascal?

I’m not sure this obsession with our Hattie is altogether healthy and I doubt if she would be a fan of women’s boxing and beach volley ball, you need to do a bit more research in to the feminist cause, I don’ think you’ve quite got the gist of it yet.

I feel privileged to be in touch with someone who understands the mind of Picasso.

As far as Disraeli is concerned my admiration is genuine, he overcame huge anti Semitic prejudice in his own party to get to the “top of the greasy pole” and Brown is his equal. Neither however is a match for one who never reached the top and comfortably knocks both in to a cocked hat. Michael Foot.
